Dear Sir,
I hereby submit my nomination for Jordan Bailey of Bailey Biz, Inc as the 2013 Outstanding Person of the Year Award for his achievement in the business front and his contribution to the wider society at large. Please consider this nomination for the award, in view of his footprint in the society.
The reasons that spurred my nomination for Jordan Bailey include:-
-Creating a company from scratch that has now engaged over 400 persons.
- Initiating major development projects which include and putting up low cost housing units for the poor.
-Successfully leading a campaign against human trafficking especially for vulnerable persons.
Creating a company from scratch
Jordan Bailey started Bailey Biz, Inc, a firm that provides construction raw materials to both the public and the private sector. Following his loss of job retrenchment in a restructuring program initiated by his employer at the backdrop of the global recession, he acquired a loan from his savings and made use of the skills he acquired while at work to establish his firm. Within a year of operation, the firm has grown tremendously and is now cited as one of the fastest upcoming indigenous companies in the country with a turnover of $7 million and boasting over 400 employees. The firm has provided the much needed boost to the economy and absorbed a number of employees thereby lowering the escalating level of unemployment. His company has been nominated twice for the best middle sized company award. Bailey was also crowned the 2012 Merck Business Leader of the Year Award Winner for his entrepreneurial skills.
Initiating major development projects in the society
Besides his admirable entrepreneurial spirit, Jordan Bailey has launched a number of development projects and programs. He has partnered with BuildNation, a non-governmental organization in his community, to build low cost housing units to the marginalized and the poor. The organization also gives financial upkeep to the elderly in the locality who have no one to look up to. Besides partnering with the organization, Jordan Bailey runs a charity program as part of his firm’s corporate social responsibility which targets at fighting global warming. Last year alone, his company invested nearly $ 1.5 million in efforts to contain the rising temperatures by helping build green houses.
Voice against human trafficking targeted at the vulnerable persons
Please consider my nomination as the efforts of Bailey have ensured increased employment opportunities for the public, shelter for the indigent, protection of the rights of vulnerable persons as regards human trafficking as well as stepping up the fight against global warming.
