Management
One of the main advantages of allowing work from home is that it immediately develops a production line and the business starts to operate immediately. The cost and the training of hiring new employees are minimized, and the skilled labor can be hired at lower costs. Similarly, the main disadvantage or work from home, according to the case study is that it is not possible to allow every employee to work from home. The operations such as interacting with the customers and the cash dealing must be performed in the workplace. Most importantly, it increases the level of morale of the employees. (Bharadwaj 2015)
On the basis of facts given in the case study, it is recommended that the option to ‘work from home’ must be given to the employees who are valuable and can perform their duties at home effectively. According to the findings of Matt, the profitability and efficiency level of the business increases and the program works well. Moreover, Matt is interested in hiring more employees, who are interested in working from home. (Bharadwaj 2015)
The presence of small industries in the countries like China, India and other countries shows that this option was available in the last 30 years. This option allows the industries to hire the skilled labor at the cheapest rates without affecting the local customs of the countries. It is highly probable that the trend of working from homes will increase in the future. The main reason is that the companies are outsourcing their work to the smaller companies or to the individuals who are professional in their fields. For example, the outsourcing of the payroll accounts and other account ledgers to the individuals living abroad is a routine office tactic of the businesses. Moreover, the improvements in the technology and the communication methods are increasing the employees who are working from home. (Bharadwaj 2015)
