The death sentence is not only unjust but also unethical. I, therefore, believe that it should be abolished. The death sentence is against the human rights, and this makes it be an immoral way of sentencing people. I believe that any administration across the world should abolish death sentence as a form of capital punishment. Capital punishment is the infliction of deaths for capital crimes such as murder, rape and even crime (Theroux& Krasemann, 2014).
This form of punishment is just like the eye for an eye sentiment, which is also unjust and immoral. Sentencing people by murdering them just because they committed a heinous act like killing is like technically committing the same crime. Any administration across the world cannot claim that they are giving justice by using death sentence whereas they just turn around the same crime and commit it to the same criminal who committed the same kind of offense. This shows that if the administration follows this the cycle would be endless and no justice would be found.
The death penalty also denies the human their rights (Thiroux& Krasemann, 2014). Murder punishment is a cold blood killing of an individual by the state. This act violates the Universal Declaration of Human rights. In, my opinion I think every administration should abolish the death penalty as a way of punishing criminal simply because of the following reasons; a death penalty is a form of revenge where no justice is established, killing others against their will denies them the universal right of life, justice is never reached if someone is sentenced to death, and also there are also chances that an innocent life will be accidentally taken.
Conclusion
The reasons why capital punishment should be abolished outstrips the reasons why the state should continue with the act. I believe that morality has developed over the years that the state should get over the vengeance kind of punishment and resort to other forms of punishment.
