Abstract
This paper will reflect over four articles regarding car theft in Dallas. It will present an outline on each of these four articles.

The first article: “Auto Thieves Strike When Iron, Summer are Hot, Authority Warn Dallas Areas Drivers”
Thesis Statement: July is the time of most car theft in Dallas
1) First Main Point: Every summer during the high temperatures, there incline of vehicle break in

1) July is the worst month
2) They have an event called “Watch Your Car Month” alert the public
2) Second Main Point: There an automobile crime every two minutes in Dallas
A)Supporting Detail:
1) They are in the top three states of the nation for this type of crime
2) Skilled criminals said a car can be stolen in 15 seconds; They work in teams or Pairs
3) Third Main Point: How to avoid getting your car stolen
A) Supporting Detail:
1) park in garages when possible recommend by police
2) Running or unlocked cars are to be avoided
4) Fourth Main Point: Top vehicles to get stolen
A) Supporting Detail:
1) Pickup trucks are very common states the police-due to the parts can be strip;
Ford, Chevy and Dodge are the most common pickups at target.

Second Article: Dallas Police to Collect DNA Evidence in Car Theft Ring Cases
Thesis Statement: Technology has given another advantage to help catch criminals when a person car is stolen.
First Main Point: DNA proved successful in solving violent crimes

Third Article: 4 Men Charged In Beating, Car Theft on Daisy Dallas Road
Thesis Statement: Sadly, society has changed and car theft can lead to physical harm over a piece of metal with four ties forgetting the value of human life.
Main Point: 23 year old was pulled from his car and beaten
A)Supporting Detail:
1) they started punching him through the window
2) they then pull him out of the car and kick him on the ground
2) Main Point: The victim injury
A) Supporting Detail:
1) Victim had swollen eye
2) Victim had possible broken rib
3) Main Point: The criminals
A)Supporting Detail:
1) They stole the victim wallet and took a total of $60.00
2) When caught, they deny they were there. Evidence provided otherwise
Fourth Article: Kaufman County Deputies Bust Auto Theft Ring In Crandall
Thesis Statement: Stealing cars might seem like a lucrative income, but it comes with harsh punishments and dangerous risks.
1) Main Point: Two month long undercover operation
A) Supporting Detail:
Locate over $70,000 in stolen vehicle reported stolen from Dallas and Collin County. They also recovered travel trailer stolen from Farmers Branch
2)Second Main Point: Arrests Made
A) Supporting Detail:
1) Two of the three suspects did a foot chase
2) Two where charged for avoiding arrests among many other charges and the third had many charges; at the time this articles was written they are still waiting for trial
