Leadership is the ability of any person to persuade people to follow him and he guides them to achieve goals
Recently I had the dispensation to meet Mr. Bill Clinton and I was devoted to learn and understand the factors that have made him a renowned leader and people follow him with great respect.
Clinton’s style of leadership is inspiring and his personality is a magnificent symbol of hope and optimism for the public. I have seen few very important traits in his personality which are usually very important for a leader in corporate world. Like the sense of having clear vision and mission for the betterment of the people and the state. He has immense ability to develop long lasting and trust based relation through effective communication.
My personal experience of having Mr. Clinton in conversation has helped me to develop a comprehensive concept about his qualities like charisma, passion for people and state, clarity is his ideas ,vision for future, interpersonal communication skills, persuasiveness, patience, persistence, probity, being perceptive ,constructive orientation ,praise giving and progressive approaches. These qualities are deeply ingrained in his personality and I was also able to feel the power, energy and unbeaten passion that have made him a great leader (lance,pp 156-160).
I attained few important lessons as takeaway that would definitely help me to modify my opinion on leadership practices. This meeting has given a thoughtful insight on the traits of effective leaders. The modern style of leadership is to inspire people and to take meticulous care of the people by addressing their needs. Try to develop a friendly and relaxed ambiance for the followers. Listen to them carefully and make them believe that their viewpoints will be taken in final decisions. Leader is responsible to develop a vision and openly share his goals and objectives with his followers. Provide all the necessary knowledge and information and take suggestions to achieve the set targets. Leaders should not try to rule people with coercion rather rule on their hearts and they will remember them for generations.
