. Carolina Herrera was born on 8th January 1939 to the air force officer and a former Carcass governor, Guillermo Acevedo, and Maria Passios. Herrera is a Venezuelan- American designer in fashion, who is well renowned for her exceptional personal style, In this regard she has ever been privileged to dress the American first ladies, with Jacqueline Onassis being the first one, and going all the way to Michelle Obama. Before then, Carolina Herrera's grandmother was a socialite. The grandmother introduced her to the fashion world, where she took her to some shows that were hosted by Balenciaga. In addition, she also bought her outfits from Lanvin and Dior (Alers, 2010).
Consequently, Herrera’s best specialty stores had a worldwide coverage in terms of selling both her fragrances and her fashions. Similarly, her enormous collection of successful accessories featured beautiful details, print scarves, as well as a line of handbags. The clothes presented by this designer were feminine, elegant and more comfortable (Safa, 2010). All the later stated traits of her fashion were achieved through her trademark of sleeves, construction, line and shoulders. Moreover, Carolina was known for both evening wear and day wear that were elegant. For this reason, the subject can be said to be a fashion designer as well as a costume designer.
When it comes to the period in which the works of the designer was relevant to the market, it can be said that Carolina was famous from the past all the way to the present. Studies indicate that Herrera opened up her boutique in 2000, at her place called Manhattan. She had a mindset of expanding her business and after two years, she had already penetrated Europe, having her first collection boutique in the outskirts of New York. In 2008, the designer launched a ready to wear brand that goes by the name CH Carolina Herrera; as of 2012, it is evident that there are at least 18 Carolina Herrera, and CH Carolina Herrera boutiques worldwide. The lines of the latter stated designer are known to be carried in more than 280 stores, among 104 countries. In the present day, Herrera has her boutiques in various places such as San Diego, Scottsdale, Costa Messa and Boca Ratton.
Last but not least, the New York Times claimed that the designs relating to Carolina Herrera were elegant and worldly. Similarly, Carolina Herrera also boasts to be one of the most elegant women in the world, and this was after her nomination to the Hall of fame of the best dressed. At this juncture, my opinion is that I like Herrera’s style of design and draping, and this is because of her simplicity and elegance in feminism as cited by the New York Times
