Communication
Introduction
As the general manager, I will assure the volunteers that I will handle the matter in my best. I will make arrangements to meet my assistant manager and demand for an explanation. I will give directions and the way that I expect the volunteers to be treated. We will discuss on the best way to treat the volunteers with maximum respect and a high dignity so that we can avoid insurrection of the volunteers.
Since the work is not done, I have to organize how the games will be uninstalled. Before I take an action, I will brief the workforce that the games have to be uninstalled since they affects the company’s production and lowers the profits. I will hire for a computer system professional and give him full mandate to uninstall the computer games. In the shortest time possible, all the computers will be left free from computer games.
As my good efforts to try and tame the new employee are not fruitful, I will give a warning to the employee. We have to agree on what I expect as her outcomes in the job and set deadline for her room of improvement. Failure of her meeting the agreed deals and negotiation, I will automatically take a step further and fire her.
As the head of department, there is no way that I will allow for poor grammar and spelling mistakes from the personnel. I will organize for seminars and gatherings where the engineers will be taught on the basic in grammar and most important the need for proper grammar in communication. This will change the perceptions of the workforce and they will work towards improving their grammar and spellings.
I will set a conflict resolution board with the mandate to solve all the differences that arises. With the support of the board, I have to brief the two conflicting parties and warn that their differences may have consequences to their jobs. I will set arrangements for the engineers to be trained about use of computers and also issue the expected mode of dressing as the solutions to the conflicts.
This is how I will approach the 20 years junior about being too diplomatic. I have to make her understand that workers will resist any corrections that are made forcefully. This is because human beings have a tendency to demand for a polite approach but not one like uses aggression and threats. With this, the junior will be flexible and approach the other workers in a way that they will be comfortable with.
I will address the situation by calling a brief meeting of all the employees. The young taskforce will be briefed why they are expected to deliver more in the job since they are energetic and more hardworking. The retiring employees will also be required to perform their duties. Every individual tasks will be clearly defined to avoid complains from the young people.
Since the young workforce is resisting all my attempts to do away with computer games in the work place, together we will set the laws and regulations that will govern this process. I will propose for a set schedule for those interested to play the computer games provided that they perform their assigned tasks perfectly and as expected. Those who go against the rules will face disciplinary actions.
Since the pace of the work is very slow, my decision will be to withdraw from the company. I will look for other available companies that will attach me temporarily and allow me some free time so that I can spend it in cycling. I will write a letter to my current boss and notify him in time that his company was not meeting my expectations and I was opting for another company.
The manager will supervise and motivate Gary so that he can do an effective job with using these steps: explain the need for an official appearance as many will look upon Gary as a role model, he will request him to do away with all the tattoos in his body. This may have an impact to Gary and he will improve on his appearance and dress officially as expected by many.
The senior leader must understand that physical appearance is an important aspect since it has a social significance to people. The way one appears communicates a certain message and it is important for the employee to put on attires that will bring positive perception despite the face that the employee is delivering the best from his assigned tasks.
