Organizing at Dell Computers
Michael Dell is the founder of the Dell Computer Company. He had stepped down from his CEO position in this company in 2004 and only served as a chairman (Cliff, 2009). This gave him more time for research and technology. However, Dell is back into the company and is making various efforts to turn around Dell Computers. This is because, the company had started losing market and was criticized for poor customer service. The question “can Michael Dell be successful in turning around Dell Computers” is now in the minds of many people. Through his efforts, it is clear that Michael Dell will be successful in the turning around of the Dell Computers. In addition, since Dell had the ability to launch this strong business, he has all the qualities that can help him revive this business from its current struggles (Cliff, 2009).
Although the Dell Computers Company has faced a lot of competition from other computer companies such as HP, Dell is looking for better improvements in the company in order to improve its profitability. This will help the company to become what it was in the previous years before Michael Dell had walked out of its management. One of the ideas that will help Dell succeed in turning around Dell computers is selling computers directly to the customers (Cliff, 2009). Since Dell Company was condemned for poor customer service, Michael Dell now wants to ensure that the clients are treated well in order to ensure a good relationship between the clients and the company. This will help Dell to succeed in turning around Dell computers. According to Dell, selling directly to the clients is a good revolution to the company because it will help to ensure a good interaction between the company and the customers. This will be achieved by improving the ability of the company to sell directly to the customers as well as finding fresh manufacturing and distribution models (Cliff, 2009). The main aim of these efforts is to ensure that the customers of Dell computers get what they want. In addition, Dell also aims at making the technology uncomplicated and easier for the customers to use.
Michael Dell is ready to deliver what his clients expect. This involves the provision of the right tools and technology needed in computer use. For example, Dell has come up with a tool known as DellConnect which helps the Dell staff to link to client’s computers and solve problems instantly or guide the customers on how to solve computer problems (Cliff, 2009). In addition, there is also the use of the IdeaStorm which enables customers to brainstorm the new features they would wish to see in the Dell Computers. This helps Dell Computers Company to know what their clients want and this helps in improving customer service. As a result, it is clear the Michael Dell will be successful in turning around Dell Computers.
Another initiative that Dell has made concerning organizing Dell computers is looking overseas to the needs of the forthcoming computer users. This has led to the start of many fresh computer technology ideas in places such as Brazil, India and China (Lauri, 2008). Such ideas will enable Dell to succeed in turning around Dell Computers. This is because, they will help to ensure that the company is aware of changes in consumer needs and this will enable them to meet customer requirements.
The other initiative that will help Dell become successful in turning around Dell computers is encouraging Dell workers to be competitive. Competitiveness will help the workers deliver good services to the clients when compared to other computer company staff. In addition, it will also help in manufacturing computer tools that meet the demands of various clients. Competitiveness will also enable the workers of Dell Computers to take well thought-out perils in order to ensure the progress of the company (Lauri, 2008). This indicates that Dell’s efforts will be helpful in turning around Dell Computers Company. Good management of the company is another initiative that Dell has taken in order to turn around Dell Computers. A new team of management was put in place to replace the existing management which seemed to be incompetent. This shows that good leadership is the foundation of turning around Dell Computers.
Investing in research is another way to turn around Dell computers. This is because, the company faces stiff competition from other PC companies and therefore there is great need for research in order to come up with fresh technology ideas which will make the company more competitive in the market. The company has enough resources that can enable it to greatly invest in research in order to improve on its services and products. This shows that Dell Computers should research on various computer technologies that are essential in the contemporary world. In addition, this company faces competition from other computer companies that are making a lot of efforts to remain competitive and therefore Dell must work tirelessly in order to turn around Dell Computers (Lauri, 2008). In this connection, determination and hard work will help Michael Dell to become successful in turning around Dell Computers.
