Windows Vista installation
Given the fact that Jeff is a part time network and system administrator, the installation method that he will choose to use will have to be a simple one. One reason for this is that Jeff could be lacking in skills or could be having no time to implement the required resources that are needed for a complete installation. There are skills that are required for a complete installation of the network and system administration. There is a need to have such installations as image-based installations or even does he have time to undertake distribution share installations. These installations require more time and probably more resources to undertake. Jeff could be lacking in these skills and time availability. Jeff should make use of installations that use CD boot. These are the installations that should be employed. After the installation, the required drivers and applications should be installed after the installation process. This is right and in an appropriate manner because the required installations are small enough.
There is another option that Jeff could take which is to purchase computers which have already been installed with Windows Vista. If Jeff goes for this option, then all new computers will have Windows Vista already installed. With new computers being purchased, then Jeff will have the time to implement the installation of the new operating system. This way, it will not be the installation of many computers but a few of them and Jeff will have the time to undertake the piecemeal proportions. The two approaches are the most appropriate methods that Jeff can take when installing the machines in the organization. He will have the time to attend to his other major task and at the same time have the computers updated.
