It is commonly known that there are children who, because of the nature of their organism, find it difficult to socialize in the world. These are children who suffer from disorders associated with physical and mental health as well as from emotional and behavioral problems along with learning disabilities. These children have problems in school, but the school prepares a person to adulthood, giving him or her the necessary knowledge and communication skills. So children with special needs require help so that they could find themselves in this world and to communicate with other people ("School Services for Children with Special Needs: Know Your Rights", 2011).
The desire to help these children makes me indifferent to this issue. My value system includes equal treatment of all people regardless of their special features. However, it often happens that children suffering from autism, visual and hearing impairment ("School Services for Children with Special Needs: Know Your Rights", 2011) suffer the reluctance of both children and adults to communicate normally with them. I really value equity, so this situation gives me a strong desire to help these children. In addition, an understanding of what these kids are going through because of their differences from others gives me a strong passion for changing something for these children.
Adherence to these values will undoubtedly help to build a healthy and prosperous society because in a world in which a society recognizes the right of every person to be what he or she was born, people will be happier, and that will affect the overall mental health of society. The welfare of society consists of the well-being of its individual members. The difficulties of one individual can affect the well-being of the other. So, misfortunes of children with special needs will affect the mental well-being of the people who love these kids, and those people, in turn, will cause a misery of others. People in society are closely linked, and therefore the better people will treat each other, the healthier and more prosperous the society will be as a whole.
