Chris Kyle, popularly known as the best sniper in the American Army history was a son of Sunday school teacher and Deacon. The just mentioned lethal sniper idolized by many Americans was born in Odessa but spend most of his life in Texas. He married to Taya, who described him as gentle and lovely husband but conversely a brutal warrior. Chris Kyle and his boys invaded Iraq in the year 2013 under the Bush Administration orders. Chris Kyle was a gentle guy and losing his friend Marc Lee and the first SEAL to die in the Iraqi war caused him so much devastation that he was unable to read the speech he drafted about Marc Lee. Chris Kyle was among the military snipers that government of the United States under then-President Bush was sent to Iraq in the year 2003. His involvement in several killing of innocent citizenry of Iraqi strongly suggests that he was a villain not a celebrated Hero. The paper seeks to prove the fact that American should view Kyle as villain but not American Hero.
Invading Iraq and killing 160 innocent people cannot by any standards and international laws emulate someone to a position of Heroism. It must be remembered that Kyle and his boy invaded Iraq as a retaliatory attack against the 11, September 2001 USA bombing (Ramsland 75). The just cited USA attack primarily and with all basic facts was not executed by the Iraq and its citizenry. Reputable thinkers affirm that war of aggression against innocent Iraqi people cannot qualify someone the status of National Heroism.
Typically, Heroes globally cannot be compared to an individual hired and ordered by the government to kill. Reassuringly, it must be noted that Chris Kyle and his colleagues were part of the United States that invaded Iraq. In fact Iraq and the populace of the mentioned nation did not attack the United States and therefore Ethicist and Reputable Thinkers considers Chris Kyle and the United States as the aggressors that had to be resisted by all means (Kyle 150). For example, if Iraq had attacked the United States soil with powerful military and snipers, would Americans consider the said Snipers as Heroes? The response will be no. As a matter of fact, the American resister would be termed as Heroes. The disturbing question is, why double standards.
Americans who idolize Chris Kyle as the best sniper ever and a Hero, argues that he did save the lives of Americans. The distressing question section of Americans should ask themselves is, “why save the lives of Americans military personnel that invaded Iraq at the expense of innocent Iraqi resisting the illegal invasion. Ethicist and reputable thinkers globally believed that the honor of Heroism should have been given to Iraqi he killed while trying to protect their Nation from illegal invasion (Kyle 215). The term Heroism as placed in the head of Chris Kyle is misleading and should have been replaced by a coward aggressor.
It must be remembered that what made Chris Kyle, an American Idol and Hero is the killing of 160 Iraqi people in 24 hours at the expense of saving the aggressors lives. Internal Standards, Laws and Human right cannot by any chance recognizes such honors by killing 160 people that Chris Kyle himself believe was even more as that was the official figure from Pentagon. Terming Chris Kyle as an American Hero is a disgrace to the most democratic and developed country globally. The Iraqi he killed had their families and loved ones, what kind of life did his action turned the mentioned families into?
Similarly, Chris Kyle did describe the he killed as despicable evil and had fun doing so. That is inhumane given the fact that Chris Kyle and his team invaded Iraq without invitation, and that makes the United States the enemy and despicable evil to Iraq. Chris Kyle should not be idolized as a Hero by killing innocent Men and Women. Regrettably, the first person he killed was an innocent Iraqi woman who tried to resist the illegal invasion in a foreign land by the United States (Ramsland 75). The mentioned act of resistance was an absolute right of the Iraqi.
Notably, individual like Chris Kyle who obeys government orders to kill innocent Iraqi cannot by any international standards and laws be honored as Heroic. In fact, what Kyle did in Iraq is inseparable to the action of Adam Lanza at the Elementary school. The two mentioned actions globally by Ethicist and reputable thinkers do not qualify an individual to the status of Heroism. Referring to Iraqi as enemies is in fact misplaced given the primary fact that the United States military was illegal in the first place.
Chris Kyle though a loving darling to his wife, himself confess that he regrets the persons he did not kill they could hurt the Men and Women he served with. The just cited statement elaborates the angry heart that is out just to kill and such lethal and uncalled for massacre cannot meet the requirements of Heroism. Additionally, he confessed that he had fun killing, but the hard question reputable thinkers are placing on the table is how do you differentiate an enemy to an innocent Iraqi while spraying bullets in the battlefields. It must be recognized that the American Sniper was in a foreign land with almost everything new to him. He did have the knowledge of socio-cultural activities of Iraqi and could not identify who is the bad guy just by the looks.
Iraqi before the United States invasion was peaceful and was in the hand of then according to Bush administration Dictator. After Chris and his fellow colleagues invaded the just mentioned Nation, peace has never prevailed again. It has been just the news of deaths, attacks, unstable government and Blood Shed. How on today fast moving and democratic world qualify a person who causes disturbance and hatred Heroic. Similarly, Chris himself disagreed with the notion that he was a hero. “The mentioned sentiments can be supported when the sniper argued that he is just a regular guy” (Segrest 96). The question, therefore, is how do you qualify and the individual who does not see himself as a hero, heroic. Even as a section of Americans and Pentagon honors Chris as a Hero, it must be noted that such honor lies in the individual and if he say no then that fact cannot be disregarded.
Regrettably, it is such a sad situation when an individual who saves fewer people at the expense of killing many is considered a hero in a country of such status as the United States of American. According to Chris, he was fighting for his brothers and would love seeing them go home to their families without harm. To illustrate the inhumane in him, Kyle was not concerned with the people he killed but, on the contrary, the number he saved. The fact that portrays him as a bad guy is that he was defending the Americans citizens in a foreign country without an invitation. One fact that portrays Chris as a caring person in Iraq is when on one occasion he ran through hails of bullets to pull a wounded Marine to safety.
Chris Kyle pulling a trigger and killing 160 innocent civilians portrays him as a villain. Such killing according human rights globally is inhumane and unacceptable and, therefore, the mentioned Sniper cannot be regarded as hero but a coward villain. Chris should have considered the pain and sufferings that families of the massacred families by his actions will pass through. It must not be forgotten that he did not consider the consequences of his action. Ethicist and reputable thinkers argue that families sleeping without food and country not experiencing peace after Chris Kyle and USA invasion cannot by all standards uplift his status to heroism.
