Rationale of the type of communication
In the first stage of communicating the change itself, live meeting is important in order to obtain feedback and the perception of stakeholders. It is also easier to convenience them to embrace the planned change in a face-to-face meeting. The humor, emotional mode, the change managers’ characteristics and the display of emotions entail how the message is packaged to the various stakeholders.Strong change coalitions, vision instilling and communication of urgency can only take place in the presence of emotional appeals in live meetings. However, is not possible to reach out to all stakeholders for practical and financial a reason which necessitates the need of news release .
In status review conference calls and live meetings were appropriate. This is because in reviewing the project status by the project team it is necessary to brain storm, obtain immediate feedback need to revise plans. Non-verbal communication can also be conveyed. It is also important that status reviews are kept confidential to ensure technical details are not leaked out. . A number of problems can affect the communication process that is in use. These include message overload, distortion of the message, and ambiguity in the message. These problems can only be corrected in live meetings. However, in cases where the project team are far apart geographically, conference calls come in handy. Similarly conference calls and live meetings are appropriate in the development of technical solutions designs and periodic project status meetings for the same reasons.Lastly, in project status report emails and news releases were appropriate because there numerous stakeholders. Therefore, for practical and financial reasons it may not be possible to hold live meetings or a conference call.
The first communication is informing all stakeholders of the change. The news release inform of a paid advertisement would appear as follows;
Construction of a new medical Pavilion
Motivated by the need to strengthen the healthcare delivery system of providing the quality and availability of healthcare patients seek and need, Bon Secours Virginia Health System is constructing a new St. Francis Medical Pavilion. It is approximately 60,000 square-foot building. The medical Pavilion has been designed with high efficiency and safety standards. The drop-off area of patients will be covered. Medical space planners have been hired to ensure the new pavilion is customized to suit patients and are in line with current health care trends. The new Pavilion is expected to accommodate Advanced Orthopaedics, multi-specialty practices, on Secours-affiliated primary care, and a pharmacy. Bon Secours Virginia Health System intends to move its operations to the new medical pavilion by the fall of 2013.
