Abstract
I wish to tender my very humble interest to secure admission in your college as a student in community leadership. I had a primary interest in taking this course, and it is a natural conviction which emanated from a very remote encounter to this discipline. I discovered quite early in life that I am very inquisitive, argumentative and critical and my late father testified to this when he said that I took after my uncle who was a community chief
I would like to testify that as a visionary future leader, I have taken initiatives of launching the anti jigger campaigns in my community where men and women of all ages have fallen victims of these tiny but painful creatures. As an optimistic team leader, I mobilized eighty youths whereby I personally led the campaign from door to door in search of the victims. As a result, we decided to do it not only once but routinely. We washed their feet clean and applied medicines which were donated to us due to my unrelenting efforts and up to date, the whole community recognizes my services and ability as a young leader. I would like to reiterate that since then, I have acquired sound interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work both independently and also as a team leader. Through my experience in volunteering I have confirmed my call as a community worker and leader. My experience in both in Saudi academy school and the volunteering has enhanced my mental knowledge of understanding the behavior of people from different backgrounds. I am now in a position to understand social transformations movement and different structures. My eagerness to learn and the fearlessness in me towards challenges have broadened my understanding of social conflicts, labor racial and gender issues. I have understood fully the challenges that men, women, children and even the aged undergo in any community and therefore given a chance, I can make a great and a visionary leader of all time.
Allow me with due modesty to reiterate that I am a devotee of Martin Luther’s ‘I have a dream’ speech where he dreamt of seeing a nation roasting in the heat of injustice, and oppression, that will be changed into a haven of freedom and justice. That his descendants shall live in a nation where their judgment will be based on the content of their character not the color of their skin (Luther, Para,1-5).
Everyone including my teachers has always affirmed that I am a caring visionary leader in waiting and this is due to my sound arguments, I have a natural ability and affluence in quality grammar speaking and also writing. I beg to observe that my consisted participation of various volunteering services in community service has made me very astute and above par and it has greatly improved my debating skills especially in public speaking and has planted in me the unmatched tendency of researching, qualities which I believe are pertinent in the study of community leadership.
Conclusion:
Leaders of exceptional leadership qualities, speakers of unmatched oratory prowess world over have all been produced by your college. These people have international recognition and positive reputation which I endlessly envy. Personally I feel that I have these potentials only that they need to be refined and shaped, and then I can become the leader whom the present world needs. I want to be a student of outstanding abilities. I want to be part of the cream of society that attended your college. For your university is not for every Tom, Dick and Hurry, but for the best selected the world over. I think your college will give me the opportunity to mingle and study with the ‘who is who’ of this era. I wish also to be in record as having studied in your college and to go into record too like the mighty humbles that the world is proud of.
