Introduction
Research is a critical aspect in education. The problems that are met when one is undertaking research come with formulating a problem that is to be researched. Most research papers have problems with the match between the purpose of the research and the research objectives. This is a crucial step that should be looked into when undertaking research. When undertaking research, it is important to ensure that the research objectives match with the purpose of the research. This should be seen to be observed throughout the paper. This paper will compare and contrast three papers, and see how they compare and contrast in terms of following their methodologies and purpose that the papers were supposed to address.
Discussion
The three articles are the ones written by i. Chu, Cheng, and Chen ii. Agrawal, Das, and Abbadi iii. Greengard. The three articles have different approaches to research. The first article has no clear purpose that that is set to cover. Although it is clear from the start what the researcher want to research about, but there is no section where the author deals with this issue. The researcher is left to base the aim of the research on the title of the paper. This is similar to the second and third articles. The authors do not give a clear view of the research purpose they would like to use and research about. This is something that is crucial in any research paper that is being undertaken.
One thing that is common with the three articles is that of clear topic that is being researched upon. All the three authors have managed to consistently touch on the topic that is being discussed. Greengard talks of the cloud computing and the developing nations. The particular interest that this author wants to pass to the readers is how cloud computing is being taken and used by developing nations. He goes ahead to see the progress and the strides that the developing nations are taking in the world of cloud computing. The author does not follow any academic research in the paper. There are no objectives and research questions. The reader is left to guess and gauge whether the author is still sticking to the point that was stated. The paper does not follow a specific outline and guidelines that are normally stated in eth objectives and the aim of the study. This is something that should be looked into and any paper that does not follow this is regarded to be non-academic. Compared to the other articles the paper can be said to be weak. It is weak when the objective of the study is compared to the aim. There is no connection between the aim and the title. This is because there is no aim and no objective. So there is no connection that can be established in the paper.
The second article by Agrawal, Das and Abbadi is seen to be strong and the objectives of the article are seen to be bound by the paper itself. There are objectives, and the paper is bound by the title and the objectives. The aim is clearly is stated in the introduction and the learning outcomes section. The author defines what the paper will look and address. The similarities with the other papers are that there is no aim section of the paper. Although this is the case, there is a clear definition of the aim that the author wants to work on. The author states clearly in the abstract of the paper that he wants to handle the use of databases in cloud computing. The need to relate big data and cloud computing is clear and this is clearly defined in the paper.
The third article is also clear in the research objective and the aim. Thus article that was written by Chu Chen and Cheng. The paper addresses the issue of green computing and the strides and effort that has been made by countries to achieve this. The article is strong, when comparing the way the authors bind the title and the objective, aim of the paper. The paper follows the objectives which were meant to be addressed in the paper.
The literature review of the three papers addresses well the objectives of the papers and aims. The paper by Aggrawal, Das and Abbadi and that of Chen, Chen and Chu have a clear and systematic approach in the way the literature has been analyzed. The paper by Greengard has no proper literature although the literature is available.
The literature review of the three papers has various ways in which they have been written. That of Greengard is poorly structured and the literature is haphazardly organized. It is like the author was looking for literature which has relation with cloud computing in developing countries.
Conclusion
Comparing the three articles, the two articles by Aggrawal, Das and Abbadi and that of Chen, Cheng and Chu are seen to follow the requirements of research papers. Most of the arguments have been followed. The objectives and the purpose of the researches have been defined well. The paper focuses on the requirements of a research paper. The importance of having a paper which has the title aligning well with the objectives is considered to be strong. When writing a paper, there should be a logical flow and connection between the various sections.
