Concert Review Of Depeche Mode Band Essays Example

Recently I have been watching the live concert of Depeche Mode band which was shown on YouTube channel in the Internet. These are outstanding musicians who create wonderful music. Every their album is special and full of emotions. You can’t stay behind it. I watched one of the last concerts where they represented their last album “Delta Machine”. This album is especially touching because it is full of lyric songs. By the way, in their songs they sang about their real lives, real problems which may concern everybody. This album consists of thirteen songs, which won’t leave you careless about them. The songs which I liked most of all are: “Heaven”, “Soft touch/ Row nerve”, “Slow”, “Should be higher” and “Welcome to my world”.
The concert took place in Austin city, Florida State in October the eleventh in 2013 year. As usual the concert starts with fans screaming who were waiting for Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher most of all. There was a little construction on the stage where other musicians and backing-vocalists were waiting for the beginning. As the first sounds of the song “Welcome to my world”, the first shape of the frontman of the band appeared and there was the explosion of the hall. Everybody started to jump, sing and scream some of the fans threw the toys on the stage or other presents.
One of the most important things in the concert is the warm and energetic atmosphere. Dave feels everything, he lives on the stage, and he shares the emotions with the fans. He jumps, he smiles, he cries – he enjoys what he is doing. He was looking like a bomb which could explode at any moment, so that he was vivid and agile. He was all the time thanking and asking about the mood, that’s why people were very thankful and happy, that their idol cares about them. There is one more important thing that his voice is really great and touching. They play music live and there was no bad sounds or not hitting the notes. Everyone did his job perfectly, everything was thought out earlier for not having any mistakes because fans feel everything and there is no right to make mistakes. The music was very clear and really unforgettable. You listen to the songs and do not feel that you are just sitting in the room before the computer. You feel as if you are on the concert with all those people in front of the stage just before Dave. There were quick songs, so you can dance, jump, do everything you want, just relax and forget about everyday routine. As well as quick there were slow songs, so you can remember some facts from your life and understand that all people are almost the same. We fall in love, we can lose someone, and we feel pain, no matter if you are a student, a worker or a celebrity. In every text of a song you could find a part of yourself. Some people were crying, because some texts were really sad, and you understand that your idol also lost someone, had some troubles, you share his problems and he shares yours. There is some kind of connection on the concert between you and Dave. Moreover Dave kept contact with the audience speaking to them all the time, asking some questions, you felt this connection. It was obvious that fans are important for Depeche Mode. The band understands that fact that they actually exist due to their fans. If there are no fans – no Depeche Mode.
Actually there are three leaders in this band – Dave, Andy and Marti. These are the only members, who stayed in the band since the beginning of existing. As Dave sang wonderfully, Andy and Marti played the same. By the way, they played not only the guitar but also the piano. It was fascinating to observe how quick they could change the instruments and continue playing without any mistake. Especially touching were the acoustic songs, where the guys were playing the guitar and Dave was singing, and nothing more: no one else was speaking or playing or singing from behind. The whole hall was keeping silence and listening carefully to these guys.
What is more there were very nice special effects such as color lightning and the display behind. The lights changed every time with every new song and it seemed as if they danced as well. On the display was shown different pictures to provide the songs. Moreover all the guys had nice concert costumes – they all were in leather. It seemed really cool; they were like real rock-stars. Dave was very energetic and there was no sign that he was tired or something like this. He danced like a seventeen year old boy. He enjoyed his life.
I liked this concert, because there was not at least one song, which I dislike, which does not suit the whole atmosphere or I cannot remember. The voice of Dave was clear and pleasant, energetic, so you cannot be bored. Music was energetic and touching at the same moment. There was not almost scenery, only music, but the show was fantastic. Maybe when the people are very creative, they express everything themselves and there is no need in additional décor. The atmosphere in the hall also was kind and pleasant. No one beat each other as it may happen during big rock-concerts or festivals. In general, this is one of the greatest concerts I have ever seen.
