Karl Marx is a famous German writer and economist. His ideas were so outstanding and innovative for his time that the whole worldview was named after him. He is the author of many articles, books and critical essays. All of them are dedicated to different topics and can provide the reader with different insight into the issue. Yet, regardless the paper, Marx had several ides that he expressed in every work he was writing.
First of all, the author emphasizes on the position of oppressors and oppressed. These notions are very important for his understanding of the world. Both oppressors and oppressed are existing since the beginning of time. All the peoples are the same in their desire to suppress someone and being suppressed by others. He strongly opposes the situation. The institution of serfdom and other equivalent types of society are not acceptable by Marx. Besides, the author points out that both the oppressors and the oppressed are guilty in this situation.
Secondly, Karl Marx writes about the dependence of the Eastern civilization on the Western one. The Europe managed to develop rapidly due to the technological advance and used to suppress the other nations, the nations of peasants on themselves in order to get the access to sources base. This means that the more developed countries rule the less developed ones. Furthermore, the cities become more important than the rural areas because of the industrialization.
The position of the author contradicts with the epoch’s point of view. The progress was favored and desirable. It helped merchants and plant owners to become richer. Moreover, the institution of serfdom was abolished only in the middle of the 19th century, so Marx could witness it. Such a position, as well as low salaries for workers, was lucrative for the business. Therefore, works by Marx were strongly criticized.
