“Stress can be controlled or eliminated by doing some vital actions; figure out where the stress is coming from, consider things that are controllable, managing time and doing things with passion, create a toolbox of techniques, preserve good boundaries and realize that there is a difference between worrying and caring, and embrace mistakes.” People are stress when they feel that the things around them become complicated. They keep on thinking whether they can get through the pressure they experienced. Their minds are too busy thinking about how to control or eliminate stress in a simple way, if not in a very complex manner to cope with the stress. Stress is anything that people feels, or feel that he is being threatened. Stress sometimes gets a person going and it feels good. However, when stress weakened a person mentally and physically, his health is at risk. There are many ways how to control or eliminate stress without strain and hassle. Faithful routines can relieve stress away. Stress walks in and out of person’s life and it can walk all over easily if he takes some actions.
Figure out where the stress is coming from.
Stress is not just a bad element it has good elements too. A person needs to figure out where his stress is coming from. Most of the time when a person is stressed, he thinks it is a big mess that appears from different angles. He begins to feel as if he is playing a game of duck ball and he always takes a defensive position. The best thing to do is to identify what he is actually stressed about, instead of feeling as if he is whirling all the time. He must be specific; is it related to work environment, approaching examination, a problem with someone at work, a bundle of laundry at home, or a fight with a friend or family? Being specific and sure enough what is the origin of his stress and the stressor in his life, he is a step closer to be organized and to take action.
Consider things that are controllable and work on it.
If a person considers on what to control then work on it on a possible manner, stress is nothing. For example, if an employee cannot control what his boss treats him stress is there. As long as he can control how to react and how to accomplish his work, everything goes smoothly. If he tries to control things or take control over uncontrollable things the outcome is worst. When he fails, he is more stressed out and feels very powerless. Before that stressful event happens, the best thing to do is to talk it over with someone who understands, identify the stressor that is controllable, and determine the best ways to take action on it. On the case of the employee, he knows that the scope of the project is stressing him; he can openly suggest breaking the project down in a friendly method and attainable deadlines. Stress can possibly paralyze a person; just perform what is within his capability that lets him move forward.
Manage time well and doing things with passion.
It is easier to move forward and to manage any stress when a person has the capability on activities in life that are filled with passion and joy. When there is no passion acted on what he does, he is most likely being experiencing stress. Think of a hobby or two that possibly enrich the world. The key to happiness is how passionate a person is. If ever the activity he is engaged is not sure enough to let him feel good, try to experiment and find something that is worth meaningful and fulfilling. In doing so, he needs to manage his time well. Lack of time is one of the stressors for many people; increases things to be done with limited time are stressful. He has more time than he thinks. People have the same 24 hours a day; they need to find time for things they truly enjoy.
Create a toolbox of techniques.
Aside from things a person enjoys, a toolbox of techniques is quite helpful in relieving stress. Only one strategy will not work for all problems and a person needs more options to choose. For example, if he is stuck in traffic, the best thing to do is relax and take a deep breath instead of becoming mad. The fact that stress is complex, he needs a box of techniques where he can fit in and identify the stressor on the present time. A stress less life means to live more; it is living with a balance state. A balance life allows reviewing daily and weekly activities to identify what to pick off from his routine. For example, if he has children, try to ask them if they really love their extracurricular activities. Are they just doing those activities to please their parents? Do not allow the scenario affect the relationship as one happy family. Do the things that will give more meaning and with the right amount of spice and it will reduce stress.
Preserve good boundaries. Realize there is a difference between worrying and caring.
Embrace mistakes or at least do not drown in perfectionism.
In adjusting things, a person needs to embrace mistakes or least to do is not to drown to perfectionism. Perfectionism can worsen stress. It is provoking and exhausting if he tries to be free from mistakes. Perfectionism is not human to be considered. It does not mean that being perfect is striving to be the best or about being healthy in all achievements and growth. There is nothing good from perfectionism; it hampers success and often the path to depression, addiction, anxiety, and misses opportunities due to fear of failure or being imperfect. Failure can lead to growth and success in life. The simple way to overcome perfectionism is to be more compassionate. Good actions produces good outcome. Good outcomes control and eliminate stress. Therefore, good actions will result to stress-free living.
