Two Topics Selected
Two topics that were selected from the indicated website are as follows: (1) the context of faith; and (2) the specific bench marks which allegedly measure business performance.
1. Why did you choose those topics, and how do they relate to corporate social responsibility (CSR)?
These topics were chosen since these are related to corporate social responsibility. The context of faith, for instance, expressly disclosed that faith communities apparently measure what contemporary companies produce; as well as their overall impact on the welfare of people and of the environment . The bench marks which were stipulated in the executive summary detailed standards, including actions that are to be expected from socially responsible companies (Executive Summary, n.d., par. 1).
2. Are the topics you selected newly emerging? If yes, what do you think contributed to their rise in visibility? If not, what is the history of your topics?
One believes that the topics selected have long existed since it was indicated in the report that the steering group actually established these principles in the year 1999, which was 14 years ago. However, feedback was reported to have been solicited only in 2002 and a draft was published in 2003 .
Do you disagree with any portion of the two sections? Explain why or why not.
One strongly agrees with the portion taken from the Context of Faith which disclosed that
there exists a continued struggle to address equal distribution of economic benefits and that which would allegedly support and sustain global communities (Context of Faith, n.d., par. 5). In contemporary times, equal distribution of economic resources remains to be one of the social problems which pervade on a global scale.
