The country I chose for a report is France. It belongs to the West-European countries and the area ranks first among the Western European countries. Population of the country - 66,7 million (2016). The population density is estimated at 108 inhabitants per square kilometer. For this size France is in 14th place among the European Union countries. Approximately 5 million people relate to citizens of foreign origin. Muslims are 5-6 million people in the country. Among the many people living in France, there are Italians, Moroccans, Turks, Portuguese, Algerians, and others. Religions: 83-88% of Catholics, Muslims 6-8%, Protestant 2%, and Jews 1%. Age and gender distribution: men 48.7%, female 51.6%. In the age structure of the population there is a pronounced tendency to aging. Citizens under 14 years old account for 18.6%. In the age range 15 - 64 - 65%. With 65 years and more - 16.4%.
Economy of the country.
GDP - $2.647 (2015), GDP per capita - $41,181. National currency - Euro. The traditional feature of French economic policy - a large share of the public sector, especially in the strategically important areas - oil and gas industry and transport. The country imports mainly energy, basic chemical products, machinery and equipment, electronics, food products (coffee, cocoa, tea and tropical crops), and tissues. On the world market the country supplies automobiles, aircraft, ships and equipment for nuclear power plants, steel, aluminum, weapons, electrical products, chemicals, textiles, and clothing. France's main trading partners are Germany, Italy, USA, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Government and international organizations.
Type of government - unitary semi-presidential constitutional republic. Membership in the organizations - France participates in many international organizations. It is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, and participates in the work of all the specialized agencies of the UN. France is one of the founders of the EU and is one of the most respected members of this organization. Participates in NATO, WTO, OECD, EBRD, OSCE, G8, and others.
