The purpose of this paper is to provide advertisements that promote the student services at the Camosun College. Additionally, I will employ the use of at least six figures of speech as well as four paragraph strategies. The figures of speech that I have used in this paper are as listed below.
Onomatopoeia – “singing of birds”
Metaphor – “every student is a warrior” “every warrior a victor”
Hyperbole – “A million thanks to the donor emergency funding”
Paradox – “less hustle, more success”
Litotes – “our lecturers are committed and qualified professionals with no mean reputation”
Metonym – “the pen is mightier than the sword”
The paragraph strategies that I have used in this paper include direct ‘announcement’, which I have used in the beginning of the first paragraph of the paper. It gives the purpose of the paper. The second is ‘question’, which I have used to give the importance of the college to the community in the second paragraph. “Why?” The other strategy is ‘presenting a new slant’, which I have used in the fourth paragraph to explain the services that the college provides to the students. Finally, I have used ‘definition’ in “getting around” explaining to the readers about the important and explicit features and services in the college.

In getting their coursework done, these services are important for the students; audiovisual services & equipment, bookstore, computer labs, help centers, library, learning skills, photocopying & print shop and a writing center. We also believe that educations is a greater weapon for success in life compared to any other considerable option, in this regard, we uphold the belief that the pen is mightier than the sword, therefore, empowering students academically has more advantages than leaving to waste on in the streets.
Campus life
The campus life has several services that help the students excel. These services include fitness and recreation, cafeterias & restaurants, Camosun College Student Association, First Nations Students Association, medical coverage & accident insurance, Nexus student newspaper, student clubs. Others include wireless networking Village 900 radio, women centers and litter bins. The personal support services include services such as campus emergencies, aboriginal services, which entails the educational, financial & cultural aspects. We also have childcare, counseling services, dental clinic, disability resource center, international counseling, personal safety services, sexual health clinic and ombudsman. Work and housing services also provide career resource library, housing registry online and student employment services. We believe that every student has the aim of attaining a sustainable employment after his or her education, for this reason we ensure each student is placed in a reasonable employment and that they will have to appreciate our efforts.
Getting around
In getting around, we have several campuses where our students can access our services from their closest campus, additionally; we provide maps for easy access of these campuses.
