Introduction
This photograph shows the loaded with log at a location near the blue mountains in the north eastern region of Oregon. This gives an account of the transportation department in Oregon. This photograph was captured and placed in the Oregon State archives in 1937.This photograph gives us the way in which logs were transported from the mountains to the factories for further processing to make other wood products.
Very tall trees are seen from the scene showing clearly that it an area where the main activity is logging for the purposes of timber and other wood products. The trees are the source of the logs carried by the truck. This indicates that logging was one of the main economic activities in this region as portrayed by the heavy truck carrying large and heavy logs which are meant for making timber and furniture in Oregon region. The piece of art shows the means of transport in the Oregon region especially in the transportation of logs.
The nature of the photographs dates back to the year 1937. This shows the level of technology in photography at that time in history. This helps us to show the trends in which photography has undergone to reach its current level of technology. This photograph may also help to see the way in which the logs were packed into the trucks as compared to the current means of transportation which mainly involves the use of containers.
The photograph also helps us show the level of creativity of the artist who designe4d such a piece of art as well as noting the improvements that can be added to this piece of art in order to fit the current field of art. This therefore helps indicate areas which need modification.
The second photograph
In the photograph, the events are taking place in the busy street. The street that was filled up with water floods bringing to an end most of the activities. This made the fireman to seek for necessary measure of solving the flooding problem and dedicating himself to the risky task of pulling the pipe.
The best way to drain the water was by connecting the large pipe to channel the water to the stream. The fireman used the cable to pull a large pipe nearer to the bridge at the corner of the street for reinforcing purposes. Many people gather to either offer some assistance to the fireman or just act as onlooker for the flow of events at the scene.
However, it did not really attract most of people activities since other people carried on with their daily business despite the presence of the floods. For instance, people operating with a loaded hay truck drove to the west for delivery of the hay to the farmers.
The floods had affected some of the business activities in the street especially the frequent customers of the pancake corner restaurant leading to its closure. The efforts of the fireman after intervention of the other people’s manpower was able to drain the flood water from the street into the stream.
The people were relieved from the hazardous effect that the flood that had started to cause to their life. In general the whole event clearly indicated the importance and the role played by the fireman in maintaining an adequate sanitation incase of natural calamities that befalls the streets and the need of cooperation from people in that particular street to solve all the emerging situations.
