Abstract
This paper will consider over the historical period of The Twenties. This paper will reveal questions and answer reflecting this time. This paper will be addressing the critical questions.
Main Body
The Harlem Renaissance was the historical period from 1920 to 1930. This was movement because it was the time the blacks’ growth in the form of literature, art, and music. The four primary members of this moment caused the movement toward this period. There were countless people and events that make this era historical. One of the initial members was Laughton Hughes who was an author. Another was Bessie Smith who was a musician. Third major was Duke Ellington and last was Louis Armstrong. There, works of art that was created either by music or literature still is cherished today.
This caused changes to life after World War II with the culture by bringing a change. This was development where women did outside the norm in reference to dress for that period. It was a change for it brought a new angle with the news.
The newspapers after a decade of World War II brought new angles to the readers. Again, it defines the standard traditions for that time. There was a difference with the adverting which also defines the standard traditions. There were numerous things that this era produced and changed America.
The role that these new technologies produced was about being different. This means stepping outside the box of traditional thinking and morals. This made this historical period one of the most cherished and loved areas of history even today.
The role of culture composition between that period and today is in some ways the same. Women can step outside the box in today society. Women make changes today that are still considering radical as the time of the twenties, the women can be seen in a negative light. An example of this is the singer Madonna. Regardless, change in today society can sometimes be due to the cause of being bold or living on the edge. Part of that is created from the foundations of the twenties.
The twenties era was also the time of Volstead Act. The Volstead Act, the 18th Amendment, was when alcohol was ban. Despite the law, many people found ways to created a network and smuggle alcoholic. It was successful in the form that most people still were able to drink despite this law.
This law produced a creation of clubs being open secretly for the purpose to drink alcohol. It was also successful for eventually this law got overturned. In the ways, this law was not successful, were those smugglers that got caught by Prohibition Federal Officer. Regardless boozes ruled.
Some historians stated that even today government will not ban major consumption by society due to the Volstead Act. The Volstead Act provided that people will get their alcohol and drink. Most historians feel that the government needs to be aware that no matter the law, people will get what they desire. Again, that is the reminder of the Volstead Act.
Harlem Renaissance produced a wide depth of cultural influences. Many great people from that area are still respected and even loved today. Volstead Act provides that when a person wants something, no law will stop them. The Harlem Renaissance and Volstead Act will always play a signification role in the history of America.
