Writing is an art that has got its process and strategies for it to be complete. The process and strategies are available to make writing much easier and organized. Notably, there are different types of writing but they all follow the standard process as well as strategies.
Literature Review
The writing process involves a number of stages. The stages are Prewriting, Writing, Revising, Editing, and Publishing. The Prewriting stage is all about coming up with an idea of what to write about, and building up on it. What follows is planning and structuring the ideas, so as to have a flowing progression.
The second step is the actual writing. This is all about putting together the ideas into a draft. A draft does not limit the number of words. Once the draft is ready, one needs to revise it. Revising is very essential since it allow one to add, rearrange, remove, and replace ideas. It is also in the revision stage that one checks if they still are in line with the chosen topic. If possible, one may seek second opinion by allowing someone else to go through their work and make whatever corrections ay deem necessary.
The two final stages are editing and publishing. In editing, one takes a close view at individual sentences and words. For instance, “how many times has a word been used?” or “does this word match the content of the written piece?” Editing should always be done after revising the paper. Finally, the writing is published. Publishing is done differently, depending on the writing. For instance, students will publish their works differently from journalists.
Another aspect of writing is proper of application of writing strategies. Writing strategies differ depending on the type of writing, the purpose of writing and the intended reader.
In conclusion, the stages that make up the process of writing as well as the strategies of writing should be used to ensure high standard and quality papers.
