After completing the assessment on my personal values, I was able to learn several key things about what I value most in my life. From the assessment, I place the most value in professional and family areas. This means that I am more concerned about the quality of work I am doing and the relationships I maintain with family members. In the professional field, I was able to identify that I prefer a job that satisfies my quest for growth through intellectual challenges and opportunities. The results from these assessments have helped explain several attitudes and behaviors I possess. First, is that I prefer tasks that mentally fulfilling, and also those by the time I am done with, I have grown my intellectual capabilities. Also, this assessment helps explain my desire to be employed in a field that allows me to spend adequate time with my family. This is because I believe that each individual should achieve a positive work-life balance in order to ensure growth in various aspects of their life.
The results from the assessment on my personal values also indicated that my second areas of priority in life are financial strength and my interaction with the community. These results motivate me to ensure that I promote sustainable development in each community I interact with during the course of my employment. I am also motivated to pursue community well-being more since the results showed that I do not value monetary gain more than my relationships with the society. These results were supported by my relatively high score in social values. However, from the results I have identified a need to increase my value for intellectual and spiritual well-being. This is because I scored the lowest in these two fields.
I am pleased to learn that my results in this assessment showed that I am more concerned about motivation factors than dissatisfier factors. This is because this shows that I more concerned with the positive aspects that life has to offer than I am with the negative issues. Also, I now know which areas to check when I am evaluating different companies I would like to work with in my professional career. I am also motivated to learn more about job content, which is my stronger area, and which aspects of this area are of higher value to me. These results also indicate which areas of motivation my employer should address in order to improve my satisfaction at the workplace. It is imperative to understand oneself before asking other people to understand you; this test has helped me understand myself.
Cosmopolitan Assessment
My results in the cosmopolitan test show that I am a person with mixed orientation. This shows that I can comfortable work in either a cosmopolitan setting or a local work environment. I would, however, wish to increase my score in this section to above 30 from the 24 I scored. This is because I would like to identify more with my career than with my employing organization.
Conclusion
The results in the various assessments indicate my strengths, weaknesses and opportunities in terms of employability. I will strive to improve on my strengths and address the weaknesses. Also, I will take note to pursue opportunities such as improving my score in the cosmopolitan test as this will increase my chances of working in a cosmopolitan area.
