I am an ISTJ profile and this would be my ideal working day:
In the morning I like to organize myself well not to waste any time (with the high amount of work I am still working long enough) and to get started quickly. Actually not only in the morning, constant and self – and general organization is probably my key strength. I am arriving to work usually among the first, coming generally alone, and immediately enter my routine. It is absolutely essential for my existence that before going to work I arranged everything well with my family. My family is who makes me who I am and I cannot see them during long working hours, so I need to be sure everyone has got what he and she needs in the meantime. When I meet my colleagues on the way I tell them very friendly but briefly “hello”, but when I reach my desk I enter, unless it is not absolutely necessary and facts – proven, my own world. Everything at my desk is extremely well ordered and sorted, so usually drinking my coffee for 15 minutes I am reading my e-mails, taking another 15 minutes to answer the most urgent ones and then, at 0830 am, I head to the first projects of the day. In the afternoon of the work day before I made a detailed to do list that now gets updated if I received relevant e-mails from our company’s global offices. I am very open to anyone inside our company who is interested in my support, even if this person has a lower formal rank, I know I am good at my job and appreciate if my support is requested. I like to get the day started efficiently and I like to solve problems of my global teammates.
Around noon I tend to slow down a bit at work. I like to take always 30 minutes at least for lunch, do not forget please that when you are working 12 hours a day, you do not this time. Mostly I am socializing with my teammates during this time, and we speak, of course, mostly about work – related issues. I am very proud to say that sometimes my teammates, and also cross – functional colleagues often come to me for advice and then not rarely it can happen we are discussing the facts and invite them for follow up meetings after lunch, but clearly I prefer to work alone. During launch or later when I am heading back to my desk, completely in work, sometimes colleagues approach me regarding their emotional matters, for example how to combine professional and private matters. As this is an issue I have major expertise in, I always am very happy to help them, and to share my experience, or to support them work – relatedly.
After 3 pm of course even me, who is working out regularly next to work both smart and hard and always making sure to get enough sleep, at this time, I tend to reduce my speed from time to time, making sure to put quality over quantity. I am working on average from 8 am to 7 pm, so I consider it highly important to keep logic and to keep calm at this time of the day. Sometimes, due to the high amount of projects in which I am majorly engaged with, it can happen that issues appear. Through long years of working experience no major errors happened with extremely serious consequences, but it always happens I have to deal with clearance issues. And often, they seem to happen near the end of the working day, when for the then following working day is a major presentation to be delivered. I am a professional very much focused on strict business planning, so when I encounter such issues, in some moments I am thinking of everything that may go further wrong. It is one of the weaknesses that every highly structured and analytical professional always encounters, but at the end of the day, my drive to solution makes sure everything has worked out, and will work out (see “Portrait of an ISTJ”).
I would like to seek a career within our Police Forces first. The skills I need for working for them are deeply rooted inside of my personality. I like to work out and to stay physically fit. I am in favor of security, order and planning, in my private life and for the world in general. When I have encountered in both my private and professional lives and environments issues, of any kinds, I have always been extremely supportive and helpful, and I have a talent for conflict resolution. I am able to communicate well, I do not mind at all the necessary administration and I am able to create trust around me, and when someone does not want to follow me, I am able to make him do so, when I am convinced about it. I believe in the years to come I would develop tremendously within the Police.
Alternatively, I would love to work and strongly perform as a Lawyer. My studies provide me with the theoretical background of our law system and my personality and problem solving abilities, equally to a career within the police, would deeply support me to become a successful lawyer within your company. My style of both writing and speaking is exceptional and multi – lingual, I have got intensive Research and practical experience, on law issues in general and especially in the area of economical law, and according to my colleagues and former professors I am very flexible and able to learn anything quickly.
I am extremely interested in and capable of high – performance within your open position of an Accountant, possibly according to my previous work experience even as a new Accounting Team Leader. My corresponding studies showed I am able to on my own make the entire auditing process in both smaller – and medium sized companies and also in multinationals extremely successful, every time with the best possible grades. I have collected accounting experience both in – house and externally as a consultant and both my high people and my extreme analytical capabilities have enabled me diverse successes in all projects I have been involved so far. I am very motivated to continue my professional journey serving your company now (see “Careers for ISTJ Personality Types”).
My unique selling proposition for the job of Accountant:

Firstly, I have a very well defined understanding of duty, making sure I am going to finish the projects that I am taking over. Secondly, I am bringing to your organization extreme analytical skills both within my mind and on diverse relevant systems, such as MS Excel, I am able to deliver the necessary calculations effectively and efficiently. Last but not least I am a total people person. Due to my perfect self – organization I am the person that stands when my teammates are not completely delivering and I do not hesitate to support them whenever that is needed. I am constantly showing empathy to my teammates and customers, I am a fine listener and I do develop and implement successful counter – measures on the people level.
