I have gained both skills and vast experiences in writing in my course. The diversity of the course in the application has further improved my writing process, which helps in self-evaluation and self-identification of my capabilities. First, the interview assignment on environmental engineering course helped in understanding the required skills, education, experiences and expectations. I found out that the majority of employers on the field opt for human personnel with great passion and vision for the environment, in relation to the application of scientific knowledge and engineering skills. In such interviews, confidence, background information and versatility are integral components to securing a job on the course. More so, the personal statement assignment helped me to integrate multidisciplinary skills in the understanding of environmental engineering such as data analysis and use of grammar.
I have participated in the study of invasive species and pollution in San Diego, which improved my analytical, report writing and researching skills. More so, self-evaluation project helped me to formulate progressive goals on career development, job acquisition and implementation of knowledge in the society such as proper communication. The fact that I have experienced life inside and outside college puts me in a better position to plan a career, in terms of job acquisition and development. In essence, a personal statement assignment provided an overall insight of the course especially in communication, writing and application. I had difficulties in presenting information in a concrete manner and pronunciation of words, but the revision improved my writing styles and decision-making. I have integrated the aspect of critical thinking and presentation of ideas when analyzing research data in San Diego. I can state that my writing has changed over time through mastering styles of writing and use of correct grammar in presentation of ideas such as job interviews. The idea that my personal statement, San Diego environmental study and interview assignments were approved by the tutors indicate a significant achievement in my writing. However, my tutor emphasised on misspelling of words, improper use of verbs and adjectives, which I improved through group studies. The interview assignment was returned on the basis of using improper style of writing, which I rectified with a personal tutor.
As a writer, I have learnt to adopt critical thinking and multidisciplinary approach when presenting information. It is through the use of correct grammar and different writing styles that create a flow of information. My strengths in writings are best in dissemination of information to present real issues that relate to the course such pollution status in San Diego and appropriate mitigation factors. In addition, I am able to use many vocabularies and writing style that help in preparing concrete reports on the course. On the other hand, I experienced weaknesses in spelling of words, but I rectified the issue through thorough reading.
The overall writing process touches on what I have learned, in the line of skills application and presentation of information. The assignments provide vast information and experiences that are paramount in the course. Additionally, I am planning to conduct more field study and acquire job that favours social interaction and communication. I also intend to sharpen my grammar through taking extra English classes on the same. Most significantly, I plan to engage in a thorough reading, which will help in embracing new writing styles and presentation of ideas.
