In everyday society, lawbreakers coexist and live among people. The main grounds to why they commit these crimes can be based on psychological problems, mental disorder, self motives and even for financial purpose. Law and justice always avail in keeping the society in decent shape and the lives of these criminals after facing the law and conviction largely depend on the individuals’ attitude and the nature of rehabilitation undergone by the person in the correction and penitentiary facilities. Others end up in leading exemplary lives; others end up back in jails while some end up in calamitous lives that can even result in death.
In San Diego, Texas, different crimes, odious with regards to the societal norms, are always reported and action taken. Of the total number of cases supposedly reported to the authorities, twenty two cases in which twenty one are committed by men, were related to public sex assault. According to the statistics by the Texas Department of Public Safety web, most of these offenders range between the ages of 25to 60 years and they also cite that the main objective of committing the crimes is self motives and desires. The crimes they were convicted of are rape except for some few exceptional cases; Sanchez, Luis Daniel convicted for sodomy and Martinez, Gertrudis Cantu convicted for child molestation.
Living with these people after concluding their sentences proves to be challenging in light of the open threat they are perceived to be posing to the society. The conflicts that afflict the ex-offenders after release from prison should be treated and dealt with in an open frame, which accrues to administrative and organizational support (Farrall, Sparks and Maruna 290). This is to help them settle back in the society and contribute effectively towards day to day life in order to avoid segregation and insults from the people. In light with this, detailed information about the ex-convicts should not be publicly displayed. This can affect their relationship with the people and can evolve to lack of jobs and discrimination from the public. The parole issuance should be encouraged to support these ex-offenders, adapt well in the society through counseling, rehabilitation and close monitoring (Clear, Cole and Reisig 400).
Crime and social disorders should be regarded as public shortcomings and victims affected should not be treated which much discrimination and desensitization. The public relation and the well fare of ex-offenders should be handled with a lot of supervision for protection purposes and dignity uphold of the offenders to ensure better reentrance in the community.
