Many have argued that O.J. Simpson, the NFL star should have been acquitted of a violent crime, though he was found liable in a civil suit for wrongful death over the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and her lover Ron Goldman. The case is considered one of the most talked about crimes of passion in the United States to date. It is alleged that O.J. Simpson brutally murdered his wife and her alleged lover on 12th June 1994, purely out of envy and anger. And after the bodies were found in Brown’s apartment five days later, Simpson tried to evade the police by running off on the highway, and a chase ensued that was broadcasted on live television and interrupting NBA finals being aired at the time.
Causes that would have led to the murder of the lovers would be the; accused being unable to let go of the deceased even after their divorce was formalized. In a recent revelation, Nicole’s sister alleges that O.J would get mad whenever he was denied sex. The couple is rumored to have been in an on and off relationship after their divorce and would hook up for sex rendezvouses. Another cause would be the fact that the deceased had moved on pretty fast after their divorce and was having an affair with Ron Goldman, and O.J was not happy with it. It is often assumed that O.J felt that Nicole started the relationship when they were still married and was jealous about it and murdered them out of anger.
Using the fishbone diagram, I would say O.J nature is to get angry. Before Nicole’s death, she complained how O.J was hot tempered and maybe during the incident, he murdered them out of uncontrolled anger. The legal system that the accused had surrounded himself with was very powerful and might have led him into believing that whatever the outcome of his actions he would get a lighter sentence thus he was not afraid to commit the crime. The fact that he was wealthy and had influence in L.A led him into committing the offense as he knew he could take up the legal battles and get away with it.
