In the attachment, Matsushita is quoted saying the reason for the failure of the industrial West is in them since the bosses do the thinking while the subordinates are left to implement the mind of the managers. The statements may be not right to say directly to a company since it is a criticism of the life of a company that Matsushita does not have any rights in. The quote is of interest to me since it gives the current situation of how the businesses in the west are run. The companies are destined to fail because the subordinates are not involved in the decision-making process, but are left to implement the ideas of the management, which makes them feel not part of the firms (Miller & Lee, 2001).
As a critical thinker, it is evident the failure of the companies from the west is because of the management ways used. The employees are not consulted in the management process but are forced to implement the decided ideas (Friis & Koch, 2015). Some of the ideas by the management may not be right because they are not involved in the grass root activities of the business. Taking ideas from the subordinates is useful because they know the exact issue bothering the firm and are best-suited to provide and implement solutions if involved in the decision-making process (Sweany, 2007). Involvement of the subordinates in making the decisions makes them feel part of the setup and will offer their best effort for the success of the business (Singh, Sharma, & Sharma, n.d.).
The comments by Matsushita may be surprising since they affect a different company from his, but they show the truth behind the failure, and if they are rectified accordingly, the success of the west industries will be achieved since the employees will be involved in making the decisions.
