Southern New England is an area located in the Northeastern corner of the US. The title New England came from the region being the earliest English settlement in the United States of America (Dean, 2012). This region is extremely rich of natural resources. Therefore, the region may be a hub for tourism if necessary measures are undertaken.
This region is rich of marine natural resources. The marine wealth of the region includes fish, whales, beaches and an ocean (Dean, 2012). Marine wildlife is one of the main tourists’ attraction sites in any country. Like other regions in Costa Rica, it is possible to maintain healthy and wealthy marine wildlife.
The region should benchmark on the most outstanding means to conserve its marine life. In Costa Rica, there is a sea Turtle conservancy (Dean, 2012).; Southern New England being rich of a wide ocean may emulate this by investing on Whales conservancy. This would attract tremendously many tourists who would assist in the expansion of the tourism sector in the region.
The region also holds massive historical wealth. One of the significant historical aspects of the region is the settlement of English men in the region. Therefore, the region should have a well set section that defines and interprets the history of the region as a settlement for English people. It should define how the settlement began and factors that promoted the settlement.
Ecotourism defines the beauty of an environment that attracts foreigners or domestic people to a given area. Southern New England being surrounded with massive wonders of nature such as beaches, ocean and fish, attractive environment may be developed in the region (Dean, 2012). The region may conserve forests as well as other features surrounding the beach and ocean. This will be able to sustain the living organisms within the environment. This will attract more visitors to the region.
Therefore, Southern New England may have a lot of conservation ideas that it may borrow from Costa Rica to make it a destiny for many tourists.
