According to Kass, he defines genetic screening as the process in which expectant women undergo to save their children from generic abortion. Kass believes that the women who undergo such problems, their fetus normally have genetic defects. It is believes that if Generic diseases are normally inherited diseases and in most cases, it is advised for the whole family to go through the process to save the children from acquiring the diseases. According to Kass, he picks his arguments about the generic problems but he is selective about abortion. He argues that, even if the fetus who have generic problems are not aborted, the will be undesirable when they are born. In his second argument, he takes an angle of how best to prevent the genetic problems. He insists that the only way to prevent the problem is through aborting fetus that is proved to be having generic problem.
When Purdy argument is viewed from the moral angle, it can be said to be morally wrong. She argues that, it is not right to conceive a child who has genetic problems. She argues that, if the parent has this problem, there is a 50% chance of the children having the problem. According to her argument, she insists that, in everything that is done on the daily basis, health must be considered as the first priority. People who suffer from this problem are not seen to be normal. According to the argument given by wachbroit, he insist that the patients who seem to be having this genetic problem should not be informed because after all, the problem cannot be prevented. This will reduce fear from the patient thus doing more good to her.
Stem Cell Research sounds to be controversial in the sense that, it offers various ways that can be used to treat the disease. Unlike other research, stem cell research inserts that; it can cure and treat the disease through its ability to differentiate. Stem cell is believed to be available in an embryo at the initial stages. The cell can easily differentiate and become a muscle or a skin cell. There is argument that favor the research claiming that, an embryo should be treated as a human being and that they should be given same right just like a normal human being. The arguments that oppose the stem research claims that the research is immoral, and should not be allowed to be curried on in our society. The critics also claim that the differentiated cells may not be safe to be used in clinics. Steinbock disagrees with this research and inserts that embryo is nota person as it is claimed in the Stem Cell research. Steinbick views this issue as a potent human life.
Surrogacy is the agreement between a certain couples to have their child being delivered by another woman. This mostly happens when the couple cannot carry the child due to numerous scleroses that the woman might have had. According to Purdy, she allows surrogacy but later adds that this should be regulated. This surrogacy option does not favor the poor women who have few options. Embracing this system completely will not favor the poor women in the society. According to Rothman’s argument, he is of the idea that gestational mothers should have the legal parental right. This is because of the relationship that exists between the child and the mother. This does not matter if the mother was on contract or not. The sperm donor is not considered to be the father. If on the other hand a woman donates an egg to the other woman, he is simply considered as an egg donor and does not have a bond of the child. She is therefore not considered as a legal mother to the child. There is a tendency of the surrogated women to be seen as containers for child development.
