The Anasazi is very interesting settlers. I enjoyed learning about how they adapted to the environment that they settled in. Anasazi people had built homes, and dams in their environment. They hunted food, planted food, and made tools for everyday use. They were smart people who learnt how to utilize the materials they had, making clothes and pottery to use in their life . The Anasazi set the growth of communities and made extraordinary housing inside of caves that were used to extend the growth of their own neighborhoods. Although they had left the homes they built and never returned by the late 1300’s.
The basis that was used to determine that the Anasazi was the first settlers in the West was the ancient items that were found . The date of the items were dated back around to that error of time. There has not been significant items from before that time frame of 1200 B.C. The items such as tools, pottery, housing, and clothing that were found are not dated to be any earlier than this era. There is no relevant proof that there were settlers before the Anasazi period. This is why they are considered the first individuals who made the land in the West a community.
I have a question about the ancient ones who settled first in the West. What happened that made them leave their homes, pottery, clothes and life that they created? What sudden issue came up that made them leave and not return? I am curious as to what made them leave, and disappear. Why did the Anasazi not take their items with them to start over in another area?
