The big five test is used by psychologists to assess the personality of a person. The test consists of fifty statements that on must rate in the scale of 1-5. The test results say that I am relatively open to new ideas; I am well organized and reliable. I am conscious to other people feelings. In addition, that I can remain calm even in the tense situations. The results are true. This is because they have told my personality just as my friends tell me. I learnt that I needed to change the way I handle my friends and people close to me.
Studies have shown that someone can portray their intelligence beyond the IQ. IQ is a cognitive measure and therefore, only measures a small portion of the effectiveness of a person (Sternberg, 2000). Other types of intelligence include (EI) which means emotional intelligence. Through this intelligence, one is able to monitor their feelings, as well as the feelings of other people. Another type is the spiritual intelligence (SI). It helps one to analyze a situation through deep understanding. Spiritual intelligence enables one to use multiple levels of problem solving in a conscious way.
I am intelligent in creative arts. I can imagine a picture and paint. I can also be able to interplate ideas that seem complex in written art like literature. In addition, I overcome obstacles through deeper thought. My intelligence can be expanded by being exposed to situations that evoke deep memories, and I can transfer it to visual arts (Sternberg, 2000). Another way is ensuring that the environment I leave in is conducive for my intelligence. I should live among people who support me by providing emotional support and the facilities needed. This relevant to my big five score because, it said that I like a new experience and appreciate art. I get irritable to my friends, if they do not commend my work.
The quote means that only a few people go to the extent of meditating their inner thoughts. It says hat only a few group of people will look deeper into their life experiences. In addition, the number of people who meditate on the life experiences are even less than those who merely think about their lives.
People refuse to contemplate their own lives because it brings uncomfortable feelings. Many people refuse to accept the situations in their lives because they are just victims of circumstances. Fate has placed them where they are in the society and they do not wish that they are the way they are. This statement is true. It is evident in the way many people are visiting therapists to help them deal with the situations in their lives some cannot even accept their current situations. It is also evident in the increased rate of suicide everywhere in the world.
Big five-intelligence test is crucial for everyone, and not only the students. Everyone can change his or her life by deeply contemplating to it. The questions in the test help one reevaluate them selves have clear goals, improve relationships and this lead to a happier life.
