The office of he Inspector General of the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) is tasked with ensuring that the programs that have been started in the department of Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) are efficient and working. In the implementation of HIPAA, the role of OIG is to provide the necessary assessments and resources that are required in implementing HIPAA. They ensure that the law and policy is implemented well. This law ensures that information use on the internet is not abused. It is requirement that information be as private and confidential as much as possible.

The ever increasing disasters and the need to have assistants in this field are overwhelming. One thing I like about the website is that they stress about getting certified CMAs who will work with them. All the text almost directly relate to the examination and certification process. The link that caught my attention is http://www.aama-ntl.org/about/what_is_a_cma.aspx which shows the various works of a CMA. It shows the various aspects of what the CMA will undergo. I was able to learn the details of the scope of work that this professional undertakes. It was important to understand the difference between a registered nurse and a CMA. I found all he information I needed.
Taking a class in HIPAA would help me in my future career because I will learn the various ways in which patient information can be protected. As patient information is important and used over the internet, it is important to understand the various ways in which patient information and data can be secured. This will be an important and worthy cause to undertake as patient data defines my career as I interact with this information everyday (Rockel 82).
