Derosa's second version has a relatively different version of the first thesis statement but similarly with a question, "are women treated as objects by the very university that has a responsibility to treat them with equality and dignity and not as second class citizens?"
In the final version of DeRosa's article, the author provides more details and effects that objectification of women has on the society through the university. According to the author, assuming that women are less powerful than the males is a disregard to the females because it depicts them as inferior human beings. The author speaks of the struggles that women encounter in their everyday life both in work environments and society in general; DeRosa relays his disagreement of advertisements and promotional display of women in the university.
In as much as there is no noticeable change in the author's first thesis statement and second argument in his final version, in the first version, DeRosa seeks for a reason for women objectification in the current world while he addresses the issue of who is to blame in the second version. Both versions, therefore, depict the author's disagreement in the objectification of women irrespective of the reason or who is responsible. I agree with the author's views because equality in society breeds positive mentality in growing little girls to uphold high standards to compete equally with men.
In the first version, DeRosa focuses on why objectification of women is going on while in the second version he strives to find who. The author as well seems to blame the women for allowing themselves as a tool of objectification in the first version while in the final version, he turns on to blame the university. In addition to this, the first thesis statement shows the authors focus on the origin of objectification. However, the changes in the final version to speak of who and clearly relays his disagreements university activities.
