The torture on the speechless birds is unimaginable. This is worst example of treating any living being. Chicken is the major food source and the poultry farms are the biggest suppliers. Just for the sake of the profit they accumulate large numbers of chicken under worst possible conditions. This atrocious treatment given to the birds is another reason not to advocate food prepared with these chickens. These kinds of poultry farms are bulk suppliers to many restaurants who serve various chicken dishes. Clearly, these farms are not following any strict guidelines mentioned for welfare of ‘Broiler Chicken.’ These farms should be regulated by organizations like PETA or other Government bodies. The National Chicken Council has clearly mentioned guideline and policies for welfare, preservation and farming of broiler chicken. There are specific set of rules for space, water supply and food provided to the chickens. If any poultry farm doesn’t follow proper instructions, there should be firm reciprocation of lawsuits and corrective actions to be taken against them. The government should set an example by taking strong action against such farms and bring it to the attention of the world. Many genetically engineered hybrid food products contain carcinogens. Long use of these consumables can lead to life-threatening conditions. The synthetic hormonal injections given to the milking animals and chickens to improve their productivity can cause severe health issues in consumers. It is the responsibility of all the citizens to demand safe food from the suppliers and choose organic food.
There are many alternative ways to get safe and healthy food. Organic farming is the best route to get fresh food source. Organic chicken farming, vegetables and fruit farming is highly systematic, and they don’t use any harmful methods to expedite the production of the end product. There are many private and government regulated organic food suppliers that can supply great quality food with good value for the money. The cultivation of the organic foods is in the environment best suited to the products. There are no harmful chemical of enhancements used to grow these foods. The issue of providing the safe and nutritious food without compromising the quality is matter of grave concern. One step can make a big difference towards perception of general public to choose what is right for them.
