Wherever I go, my cultural heritage comes with me. Since I can remember, my parents taught me to fully embrace my Hispanic identity and to be proud of whom I am. In the same time, they taught me to be friendly and to respect everybody. In their simple words, uttered to a little boy, they encapsulated the sense of cultural diversity and harmony that are the outcomes of the acceptance of others and of respecting others’ culture and way of life, of borderless friendship.
This lesson of life helped me so far in my academic experience, making me very sociable and a dynamic scholar, interested to learn more about other cultures, and open to embracing new opportunities. I am currently studying Engineering, which is a passion that I am deeply attached to since I was a child. For my high educational results, I have received an academic scholarship in my junior year in high school.
I desire to pursue the road of Engineering, enriching my knowledge and my practice. In this sense, I am applying for a scholarship to continue my Engineering study abroad in Australia, where I plan to discover innovative teaching techniques, which will help me to obtain excellent educational results in Australia. In the same time, I plan to discover all the challenges and possibilities that being a foreign student in Australia will bring: participating to seminaries and scientific conferences, discovering the latest research on Engineering, or being actively involved in Engineering specific fairs and exhibitions.
These activities will link my academic plans of my professional objectives. As such, while being in Australia, I am planning to develop a personal and social network, interacting with professionals from Engineering and related fields. I am planning to develop deeper relations and to gain more profound knowledge about the possibilities of entering an internship. Enrolling in an internship that will allow and encourage my full academic presence will enable me to achieve experience in a real life working environment, where I will be able to apply my studies.
In the meantime, driven by my intrinsic curiosity and natural friendliness, I plan to discover the Australian society, to see people as they are, to see how they live and to understand their habits and their traditions. I am planning to comprehend the multiculturalism that defines Australia and to interact with representatives of various cultures. At a personal level, I want to discover myself as an independent individual, seizing all the opportunities for developing my personality.
Guided by my passions to travel and to making new friends and driven by my dream of living and experiencing Australia, I consider that studying in Australia would be both a challenge and an opportunity to accomplish more from an academic, professional, socio-cultural and personal point of view.
