www.craigslist.org is one of the top-ranked bulletin board systems that is operational in the major cities of USA, UK, Canada and soon in other countries. Craigslist ensures all their customers are satisfied with services by offering a diverse number of services to suit the needs of the customers. Clients may visit the website when they want to buy and sell items if looking for jobs, if looking to meet new people whether romantically or otherwise and to share ideas. The services are categorized in such a way that customers do not have to spend a lot of time on the site. Craigslist also ensures that all the services they offer are legitimate and not defrauds.
Craigslist provides excellent customer service by ensuring that its clients remain private and confidential. When a customer wants to order something or sell something from this site, their email address remains invisible to the public and cannot be accessed; a pointer, which expires in a few days, relays all responses to the clients hence no direct email-to-email contact. The website also offers personal safety tips to its customers, which are meant to help them protect themselves against predators who lure people using the site.
Craigslist shows its exemplary customer service in a situation where a customer is no longer able to conduct transactions on their own due to unforeseen reasons; the client can hand over sales to the site. This way adverts in place continue running despite there being no direct interactions between the customers, the site sets prices required by the client and once there is an interested customer the site does negations on behalf of the client. Once the transaction is complete, craigslist communicates the same to the client.
Craigslist can still improve their customer care service for more efficiency by improving its design (Cook 53) which has not changed in 17 years that does not allow a customer to place more than one advert at the same time. Clients now have to post one advert at a time, which is not efficient for clients who have several adverts to run at the since they have to wait for one to be taken down before they can place another one. Therefore, for better customer service Craigslist should develop a more recent design.
