I believe it is the middle class who is most affected by cybercrime in the United States for its members tend to use the money they learn to shop online especially when it keeps them from actually having to travel to the store. The convenience of online shopping also helps middle class families who have more than one child that needs to be watched thus making it even more difficult for parents to go to the grocery store without a whole lot of fuss. The lower class, on the other hand, does not make the same kind of money as middle class who makes it troublesome enough for them to be able to go to the store let alone afford a credit card so they can shop online. Meanwhile the upper class has so much money they can afford security against cybercrime as well as have people get things for them. Thus I believe those from the middle class are the most likely to be affected by cybercrime because they enjoy how convenient online shopping is and probably do not have adequate security on their laptops and cellphones.
The most important thing for a person to consider when they are online in order to protect themselves against cybercrime is having strong passwords that will be hard for someone to guess as well as capable security on their devices. In doing so, the customer will be better able to protect their important information such as their credit card numbers, bank account, and address. This is essential for anyone who does not want their identity stolen which can lead to a messy court trial for often those who steal another’s identity use it to take money from the victim and is hard to prove. The other issue users should be aware of is the increase in attacks on the cloud where nothing truly disappears leading to perpetrators of cybercrime being able to access a variety of information. In conclusion there are many trends and aspects of cybercrime that people should be aware of so that they can protect themselves from being victimized.
