As someone who grew up in Thailand, and is of Thai heritage, I believe I have a great deal of cultural experience and the necessary skills to excel at this position. As a person who highly values the importance of news media and journalism as a means to disseminate global information to a population that increasingly needs higher-quality news to cut through an already saturated market, I greatly respect the mission of Voices of America Thailand.
My skills and qualifications have placed me in the ideal position to benefit the most from an internship at VOAT. I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations, both of which are essential skills in news and media organizations such as yours. I am fluent in both Thai and English, as well as versed in a number of other languages, so I can easily provide an international perspective that is necessary in such a globally-minded press organization. I have developed excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills in my time in America, and have learned the value of working collaboratively and also understanding the value of innovation and initiative – all skills that would benefit VOAT in significant ways.
I believe I possess the experience, abilities and enthusiasm to excel as an intern for Voices of America Thailand, and I would welcome the opportunity to learn more about the world of international news media.
