Business
An overall review of the paper shows that the thesis was well stated and the discussion was clearly centered on the theme of the paper. According to the paper, the major reason adduced for the success of the airline was the philosophy of the organization. The organization believed more in the fact that they were providing a service more than just providing airline service. The airline operated under some basic principles, aptly described as the "three pillar" approach. This philosophy, no doubt, aided the company in attaining the various successes that they were able to attain (Martin, 1992).
It also goes on to exemplify the fact that a powerful mission statement goes a long way in predicting the success or otherwise of a company, especially when the company employs a lot of individuals. The mission statement helps to streamline the thoughts and focus of all the employees thereby contributing to the common goal of the organization. This leads to an overall success of the organization. However, the absence of a mission statement might make the employees less in concert with one another’s efforts leading to dissonance of actions and efforts. A company with this attitude would definitely not go far in terms of achievements.
Another fact that one needs to consider is the evolution of the company in the face of competition from newer airlines. The company was able to re-invent itself in order to face the challenges and at the end of the day was able to stay in business (Jick and Peiperl, 2001).
