Description of my Trip to Washington DC
I had been planning for a long while to go on a trip and I got an opportunity to fulfill this dream and go to Washington DC during thanksgiving holiday. My first cousin also had his holidays and he was excited to receive me at the airport. We started with The Hay Adams, a residential hotel that started in 1920’s, and had delicious food and headed towards the International Spy Museum. My cousin had already purchased the tickets to enter, and once we went inside I was enthralled to see the spies from all over the world, including Vladimir Putin; current president of Russia who once worked as a spy. Participating in the Operation Spy was so fascinating where I participated in the spy simulation in Hollywood style.
Our next destination was the US Capitol that is the legislative body of America. The metro ride to reach this place was fascinating. I was very impressed with the Statutory Hall that has statues of famous people of history from each state. We had to board the metro again to reach the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. I had read about this museum and the life size wax models of famous presidents, actors, actresses, and news reporters. It was a wonderful experience to see my favorite Hollywood actors, and touching some of those models was so much fun. We later visited the National Aquarium on the 14th street. This is known to be the nation’s oldest aquarium. I was introduced to the various America’s Aquatic Treasures and got more information on the various alligators, and sea turtles. By the time we traveled these places it was about to get dark and we decided to go to Adams Morgan that is situated at the center of Washington. It is famous for its night life with lot of restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries, and coffee houses. We refreshed ourselves with a hot coffee and snacks. As the planning for this trip was on a short notice, I missed to see the White House completely that requires prior reservation to enter into the White House; but I am glad I saw it from outside while walking on the road.
