Personal Statement
I am confident that I have a future in promoting and enhancing the extent of human relations within the business sector. I have been employed by the City of Houston’s anti-gang unit since December of 2015. I previously worked for Brazoria County Pain Center in Angleton, Texas. These work experiences have provided me with skills in leadership, mentoring, and community collaboration. In addition, these employment opportunities have allowed me to acquire technical, interpersonal, and time management competence.
I am currently enrolled at the University of Houston-Downtown. I am in the process of completing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Communications. The courses include Psychology of Law, Abnormal Psychology, Communication Theories, Psychology Internship Program, and Theories of Psychology. I will obtain my degree in August of this year. As of now, I possess a 3.0 GPA. It is my wish to pursue a Master’s of Business Administration with a focus on Human Relations.
Because I have had a positive experience at the University of Houston-Downtown, and I have found the University to be an exceptional institution, I wish to continue my studies at UHD in the pursuit of my Master’s Degree. The University’s opportunities for working students to pursue a graduate degree is paramount. I believe that I am an excellent candidate for entrance into the graduate program. My studies as an undergraduate, my work history, and willingness to advocate for the University will prove to be assets to the institution. My goal is to work within the business community and to utilize the skills and knowledge I will gain to enhance human relations within that realm.
