Dell XPS 13 laptop was presented in the beginning of 2015 at the same time with 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro. Moreover, Dell at once was recognized as one of the most powerful Ultrabooks of the year.
Design of Apple laptop computers has been its strong side for many years. In 2015, Apple created another laptop-dream: lightweight, stylish, slim aluminum enclosure, silent operation, excellent display, long-lasting battery (Apple.com. “MacBook Pro – Technical Specifications”).
Models which preceded Dell XPS 13 never looked like plastic freaks – but 2015`s model received a truly outstanding design. The body of it is made of aluminum and carbon fiber, it looks really stylish, but the main distinctive feature is its Infinity Display. "Frameless" display immediately catches the eye (Dell.com. “XPS 13 Laptop with infinity display”).
In terms of the size, the obvious advantages belong to Dell XPS 13. Dell managed to put 13-inch laptop in the 11-inch housing. By its dimensions, XPS 13 is more comparable to the MacBook Air 11'' than a MacBook Pro 13'' (Dell.com. “XPS 13 Laptop with infinity display”).
Further, Dell offers two versions of displays – regular Full HD without the touch panel or the incredible QHD+ (3200 x 1800 pixels) (Dell.com. “XPS 13 Laptop with infinity display”). For comparison, the MacBook Pro with Retina display resolution is 2560 x 1600 pixels (Apple.com. “MacBook Pro – Technical Specifications”). Both displays are good, and to find the differences between them will not be easy. Still, the advantage in this aspect belongs to Dell ultrabook – the opportunity to select the resolution, and the possibility of QHD+ plays in his favor.
MacBook Pro is a little better for another parameter – the number and quality of interfaces. Apple laptop has HDMI-out, two USB 3.0 ports and a pair of Thunderbolt connectors (Apple.com. “MacBook Pro – Technical Specifications”). Dell XPS 13 is equipped with the Mini Display Port and 2 USB 3.0. Both laptops have a full-size slot for SD-memory card (Dell.com. “XPS 13 Laptop with infinity display”).
