Introduction and the Mission Statement
Education without practicality ends at nothingness. Students may need to engage in activities that emphasize the theories and concepts learnt in class. A research by ID Tech Camps reveals that VEX robotics enables the testing of knowledge through designing, programming and building (2016). Moreover, science and technology are two cornerstones of education as well as development. This paper will focus on the basic details of my forthcoming project concerning the VEX robotics, which will allow students to apply their class knowledge in coming up with creative designs alongside generating more experience. Moreover, the project will include Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which are technological parameters in the world of education. Importantly, the mission statement for the robotics course is vital for guidance and scope purposes. My mission statement is “using technology and engineering towards empowering education and the education system.”
First Goal and Objectives
Goalless ideas are worthless. Based on this, I purpose to have worthwhile goals of my project that will trigger my efforts towards accomplishing my mission. First, enhancing practicality for concepts learnt in class. The art of mastering other people’s ideas starts from a theoretical point of view in a conducive learning environment with the help of a qualified tutor or an educator. However, this may not be good enough to enable complete understanding. Smart students are those who can use the available knowledge to come up with undiscovered technologies through innovation (Innovation First, 2017). What are the objectives for this goal? Giving priorities to practicality in the same manner as the theoretical framework. In order to exhaust concepts in some subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical science, Electrical science, Computer and programming, a student of the mentioned subjects may need to engage physically in the application of such concepts. Applying the knowledge is key in education and for the students.
Second Goal and Objectives
Second, improving efficiency in the education sector. The essence of processing and utilizing both new and old information is that it increases and shapes the feedback given by the students. In this case, the feedback is how the good quality of education influences both economic and social outcomes in a given society. Objectives associated with this goal include making and using machines to promote education to a higher level. In addition, exploring concepts in a practical way.
Third Goal and Objectives
The third goal is to use the VEX Robotics System to provide a platform for students to have a glimpse of an experience of the “real world.” How does it feel to face or deal with something you have little or no experience about? According to the Robotics Curriculum study, students need to study both inside and outside their classrooms in order to gain the full knowledge (2015). Additionally, it is also a way of adding value to such students such that they get to acquire quality education through complete learning activities. VEX Robotic system is a technological concept to enable learners practice the real idea in question and later perfect the same for the purpose of expertise.
Forth Goal and Objectives
Four, realizing the significance of VEX robotics in the field of education. For a long time many educational institutions have not discovered the importance of VEX robotics in education. Majority of people take it for granted and categorize robotics as objects of fun and hobbyists. Nevertheless, for those learning institutions that have given VEX robotics a try, it has paid off through achieving better yields. This is one of the Chiefly goals of the project. In essence, objectives help achieve the set goals of the project. Objectives for the goal in question include introducing more students and educational institutions into VEX robotics in an enormous manner, which in turn, may increase the capability of achieving this goal. Another objective under this goal is to simplify education for learners. Teachers should inspire, motivate, and encourage students in classrooms for the use of robotics in the education system.
Conclusion
In summary, VEX robotics has much to do with education in sense that it give more priority to practicality. With more schools taking VEX Robotics seriously, education can move far ahead and develop continuously. In addition, VEX Robotics offer a friendly learning environment where learners get to understand more rather than get scared of learning. However genius a leaner may be, getting practical with a concept is vital for the learning process.
