Introduction
A retail store is usually owned and managed by the retailers but is also sometimes owned and managed by a producer in easier terms a manufacturer, or someone other than a retailer in which products are mainly sold to direct customers. One of the types of a retail store is a department store it is defined as a large retail outlet organization with an comprehensive selection in variety and range of goods, structured into individual divisions. All divisions are located under the same roof to accomplish buying, customer support, marketing, and control. Macy's is known for its position in popular lifestyle and the variety of its products. The location exists close to other New York City attractions, such as the Kingdom State Building and Madison Rectangle Garden. Kohl’s is a department store that first started in Milwaukee; it became the 20th largest department store in the country and was the 4th largest store in terms of sales. Another type of retail store is warehouse store which has huge marketing of products such as food, components, home providing, over-the-counter medication, toiletries, etc., through a extremely store that provides very low prices and little or no client support. Costco is the largest wholesaler in the United States it originated from Washington; another example of a warehouse store is Wal-Mart which started in Arkansas, a multinational retail corporation and the third largest retailer in the world. The last type of retail store is Specialty Store which only sells one kind of product. Nike is one of the well-known stores that sells shoes and apparels which were endorsed by Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. Another Specialty store is Apple that sells different kinds of personal computers, tablets, laptops and software that was founded by Steve Job. To differentiate these retail stores by using the marketing mix, when it comes to price, wholesale store is better than department and specialty stores. When we talk about product, I would prefer the department stores because of large variety in merchandise, department stores almost have everything that a customer would need to buy, I would prefer wholesale stores again if we are going to consider promotions because of the price that they provide to customers. The last part of the marketing mix is the place and when I talk about that topic, I would say that these types of retail stores made good decisions in choosing the place where they have been established, because they chose to be in the center.
