DIGITAL ADVERTISEMENT
The world is currently described as having shifted from an analogue to digital era. This is because technology has been embraced in every aspect of life and of the business cycle (Hocine, 2011). As a firm especially during these times of recession, where aggregate sales and profit are bound to drastically reduce it is good to drop the old methods and adopt new ones.
Digital advertisement is advertising of products via the social media; however there is a twist to it. This is after a research was conducted and it proofed that 87% of all teenagers owns a smart phones or a laptop and they spent a minimum of at least 4 hours a day playing video games and downloading things from the internet. This means this is an untapped market. In order to venture into the market a video game will be designed and will be put in the company’s website. This will be after advertisement about the launch of the video has taken place in the fourth estate and all social media like face book and twitter.
The advertisement will work in this way, in order to download the video a person would have to visit the company website. After which downloading will be charged a fee, the website will be full of advertisements about the products that are produced by the firm. This will create a higher level of awareness. The video game will be designed in such a way that victory from one stage to the next is achieved when one has won one of the products from the firm digitally.
In order to ensure that the promotion is interactive, there will be an offer made to the teenagers that ideas on how to improve the video game will be accepted and ten of the best ideas will be incorporated in an improved version of the game and the ten teenagers will be rewarded in a big ceremony. This will ensure that there is continuity in the advertisement as improvements will be done and newer and better versions of the game will be released periodically.
The advertisement campaign will be done in stages as follows;
- There will be the partnership with a video game company to help and establishing a well structured game.
- Secondly the company website will be improved in order to incorporate the section where one can download the game. It should also include more advertisement of the commodities produced by the firm.
- Advertisements would be made on all visual and print media about the launch of the new video game and the company name will be the logo.
- The video game will be launched and the event will be mostly advertised in all social media and sales will be expected to start trickling in. The website will also allow for the submission of the new ideas on how to improve the game and will be highly analyzed and the winners will be announced in a ceremony that will be the first ever concert done by the firm.
This will not only improve PR for the firm as it will be seen it is giving back to the society by nurturing talent. It will also increase the amount of revenue earned, this is because there will earnings from the download of the video game, and increase in awareness will create a new clientele base (Hocine, 2011). This will cushion the firm during this low time in the business cycle.
