Technology has made classroom learning interactive, collaborative and innovative. There are a number of tools for project base learning that enable a student to gain new skills and put theory into practice. Some of the skills developed through the use of these interactive tools enable a student to grasp the concept and also develop life skills. The biggest advantage of such tools is the classroom engagement and collaboration. The three most popular project-based learning tools are Tutorclass, MindMeister, and Dipity. Figure 1, depicts information for each of these three tools in an infographic.
Tutorclass
Tutorclass is an online tutoring platform that supports distance learning and allows to teach remotely. It is a simple yet effective tool where teachers can schedule their lesson, invite students and hold online classes. It supports interactive learning, an online whiteboard with some great tools that allow drawing and typing, live chat, lesson tracking system, a profile for each tutor and file upload option ("Tutorsclass.com: Online Tutoring Platform", 2016).
Mindmeister
Mindmeister is another online collaborative tool that allows capturing, sharing and developing of ideas through an online visual mode. It is a very popular online tool and boasts of four million users. Mindmeister has an editor for brainstorming, project planning, and taking notes and perform another creative task. Mindmeister allows team collaboration across remote locations and online discussion through a fast integrated chat service ("MindMeister: Online Mind Mapping and Brainstorming", 2016).
Dipity
Dipity is a great tool for sharing stories through a mix of media that includes images, text, and photos. Dipity is a browser-based tool that gives an option of sharing stories through a choice of varied themes. It allows mapping content from social science and history. The final results of the project can be exported or viewed as a flipbook, slide show or a list ("Dipity - Find, Create, and Embed Interactive Timelines", 2016).
