Diabetes refers to a disease that is simply involved with the low production of insulin into the body system, or the body itself does not use the insulin appropriately as it should. Diabetes at times can lead to very serious health conditions such as heart disease, blindness and kidney failure (Wild, Roglic, Green, Sicree, & King, 2004). Some of the symptoms of diabetes are likely to be frequent urination, unexplained weight loss, sudden vision changes tingling or numbness in hands or feet, and very dry skin. Diabetes has been distinguished into two types; type 1 and type 2 (Wild, Roglic, Green, Sicree, & King, 2004). According to research, regular physical activity can significantly reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This paper will focus on the comparison between Kaiser Permanente and United Healthcare; the subject of comparison being diabetes and level of service provided by each company.
Taking a comparison between Kaiser Permanente insurance and United Healthcare insurance shows that at least Kaiser Permanente insurance ranks top ahead of United Healthcare insurance. To begin with the number of reviews, Kaiser Permanente insurance has the highest number of reviews compared to United Healthcare insurance; this is a proof that most diabetic patients visit and research on Kaiser Permanente insurance both online and on physical visits to their centers (Kaiser Permanente Thrive, 2015). Secondly, on matters concerning employee-customer misunderstandings or any other uprising conflict, issue resolution in both companies is handled with immediate effect and possible solution looked for. In this case, both companies are head on head on diabetic disease. Accessibility is another issue, and Kaiser Permanente insurance is more accessible at the comfort of one’s house since it is globally accessed by diabetic patients. They have a lot of sites and branches to access their services via the website or physically. Furthermore, they have a large team that is widely spread to cater for customer needs and requirements. United Healthcare insurance, in the same case, has a widespread network of personnel to cater for the needs of their customers (United Healthcare, 2015).
Friendliness is one of the key and most important factors to consider in both this companies. A good rapport between diabetic patients and the management creates a favorable and conducive environment, and this will further encourage more customers since both Kaiser Permanente insurance and United Healthcare insurance are friendly. On product knowledge, Kaiser Permanente insurance has a good reputation for the products they offer.
The cost of covering for health services such as diabetic cover is less cheap and affordable at Kaiser Permanente insurance as compared to United Healthcare insurance (United Healthcare, 2015). Since Kaiser Permanente insurance main aim is not to make a profit but is to help improve lives and offer cheap medical schemes to its services on diabetes insurance cover (Kaiser Permanente Thrive, 2015).
Kaiser Permanente insurance proves to be the best insurance company basing on their good service, easy accessibility, skilled manpower, long time experience of working (Kaiser Permanente Thrive, 2015). Kaiser Permanente insurance has many advantages over the United Healthcare insurance. In addition, I would like to encourage all those patients suffering from diabetes, which is a very serious disease to join or enter into Kaiser Permanente insurance health scheme since this seems to best beneficial schemes and saves a lot of time and money, and also, their heath is in good hands.
