Individual qualities influence the equality among people. For instance, the individuals are different in terms of their levels of intelligence, handsomeness or their talented abilities. In addition, in the society itself, some individuals are successful and richer than others are. Furthermore, individuals are normally born in different families and societies that are already exist at different levels in the society whether rich or poor, which makes it difficult to establish and maintain social equality. This results to the formation of a social structure that is based on unequal ranks among individuals, which makes it hard to have social equality.
Question 2. Exactly why does the division of labor encourage social inequality?
Division of labor involves the creation of organizations. These organizations influence the way people react differently to one another, thus establishing inequalities among people. People in charge of others can be able to control others. For instance, in capitalism, a capitalist becomes wealthy by exploiting his workers and the more he does that the more power he gains over them. This establishes a trend in different organizations, which becomes difficult to stop.

Leaders in organizations usually have more information about the organization compared to other persons. In addition, they have the upper hand in their ability to make decisions on a daily basis and usually have the power to control what other people in the organization know. Consequently, this allows the leaders to separate themselves from the rest and can hold onto their positions in the organization.
Question 4. What ideas in the American culture can be used to defend the systems of inequality that exist in American Society?
In America, the system of inequality is believed to be just and democratic since each person will be rewarded for the hard work he or he does. In addition, the American culture teaches individuals that all people in the society can be anything they want to be. People who are wealthy in America are so because of their hard work and their talent. On the other hand, poverty is because of laziness or irresponsibility. In addition, the idea that America is a land of equal opportunity encourages the idea of inequality.
Question 5. How would a wealthy individual answer this question: “why are people unequal in society?” How would a person in poverty answer the same question?
